| Getting my Yorkie to eat fruits. Help! I am trying so many ways to get my Pao to eat more fruits. I have tried every kind since he was a puppy. He used to eat banana and apple but he doesn't even want them anymore. He is now turning up his nose on banana, apple, pineapple, mango, honeydew, I can go on and on.... Do you have ideas to help me get him to eat a little more fruits?

| Why do you want him eating more fruit? From what I understand most fruit just passes right through. |

| Remember to check the list of what foods your Yorkie can and can't have....I know there are several fruits that should not be given. Also, you may want to search these recipes HERE Have you tried mixing some in the food? And chopping it up finer?

| Is there a reason that you want him to eat fruit so badly? You can bake dog friendly fruity muffins or something.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | yes, why are you trying so hard to get him to eat fruit?? dogs don't eat fruit as part of their regular diet. it'd be like someone trying to get you to eat raw meat because they thought it would be good for you.

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I don't see any reason at all to make your yorkie eat fruits. Some veggies as a snack is fine. |

| Because I have heard a little fruit is good for them..banana, apple, papaya but he doesn't want any at all. I guess I shall just stick to veggies then...he doesn't really like veggies either but I do homecooking so I need him to at least eat some.

| You can get a recipe without vegetables if he doesn't like them but it is good to use them. On the fruit, I wouldn't even worry about it. If you really want him to eat some, can you cut some up really fine and mix it in his meat?

I agree..that is why I always try to incorporate vegetables in to his food. I blend the veggies and mix in to the meat and you could see his face that he is not pleased lol...he will eat but looks like he is being forced to but if I put fruits in there, no way he is going to touch them. I think I am giving up on feeding him fruits..I tried meshing some banana in to his food and he wouldn't touch it at all. I did bake some banana muffin he would eat a bite or two and that was it . Never knew Yorkies could be so picky even with homecooking.
