| post spaying My baby just got spayed 3 days ago and it seems that all she does is sleep. I wondered if that was normal after her spaying. I glad she is eating and going potty. I have been using the onesies on her but she seems like shes chewing on the snaps to get to her incison. I just hope she gets back to her normal self again. Gracie |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | is she on pain killers? my Prada was spayed on thursday Jan 8 she slept the first day only got up to eat, drink and poop. by saturday she was feeling better sleeping less and a bit more active, she did try to get to the snaps but I told her no a few times.. she gave up after a while, she is back to normal by today, but still I am not letting her jump or play rough the stiches are almost dried and healed. keep an eye on the incission for any sign of infection other than that I would call my Vet and ask. hugs, carmen in nj |

| If you are giving pain medication, this will make her more sleepy. I see that you mentioned using a Onesie to keep her from licking her incision. Actually, it would be good for her to have the incision area uncovered at least while she's sleeping. The more it can dry out the quicker the healing. Best thing to do if you're unsure, is call your Vet in the morning to alleviate your concerns. Hope your little one is feeling back to normal soon!

| I'd give her a couple more days to snap out of the sleepiness. As long as she is eating, drinking, pooping and peeing normal for the most part now and her gums are pink, she is probably fine. Is she on pain meds?

| She may be sleepy or down but if she isn't moving much yet or sleeping almost 100% of the time still, I would call the vet. She should also still be on pain meds.
