Warning about Wellness food!!! |
Interesting video. I personally find it ridiculous. I have been feeding wellness cat food for 8 years and dog food for almost 3. i have never found anything wrong in any bag purchased. I dump the bags into containers and you would think that i'd find these bone pieces or hair at the bottom of the container or bag. nope! all i ever find is kibble crumb dust. i find it hard to believe that there are so small small bone fragments in that bag of kibble that he can just open it up and scoop them out. one would think the tiny pieces would shift to the bottom of the bag. not stay on top. hmmm.... |
i also feed wellness and have no problem with it. |
If you look at video, I believe this man had a bunch of food in the cup that he had made with the fish bones. You can see that he doesn't tip the cup like a person would if you were randonly dipping in to a big sick of food. I think the tiny loose bones would have fallen to the bottom of the bag. I think this a fake video. Watch it a couple of times. Just my opiinion, but this looks like a set up. |

There is someone on Itchmo though that has noticed large shards of bone in Wellness Salmon canned cat food. It is so hard to figure this all out. |

also i don't believe the NB says its deboned either. just making observations. i went to the sites to double check. |
I think this thead should be closed as this does not appear to be a valid truthful video, & I don't think YT should be part of slandering Wellness. Good to see so many speak up about the quality of the product. |

I did find another complaint on Google about something similar but it doesn't appear to be anything severe. I think it is very important for people to know that when making a complaint online about pet food, it shouldn't be worded as an accusation or there may be a problem. It needs to be worded like, "This might be a problem" from what I've seen. If the fish isn't deboned, the bones should still be ground up. All that said, I think it is fine to have threads like this. If it is truly a good product, the reviews of satisfied customers will be posted and the all of the wrong information wil be proven false. If a pet food company can't be questioned, I wouldn't want to feed it to my dog. If the video was inaccurate, I'm sure Wellness will take care of it. ;) |
This could happen. Just like the other night, we went to a very expensive restaurant. My son ordered boneless chicken, out of the 3-4 pieces he had, he picked out about 1/2 dozen pieces of bone. Anything that is made with fish, could have little fragments of bone in it still |
it is really only the brands that have fish in there kibble that you notice that may have the small bones in them. if you decide to feed your fur babies kibble with fish in them just check the bag for the bones or just dont feed them it at all and buy chicken or something.. |
Wow, so scary! I'm so glad I only feed Life's Abundance!!! I had thought of wellness BEFORE I swtiched to Life's Abundance but the price of Wellness scared me off, I'm so glad I never tried it! |
Has anybody's dog been injured by eating it? That would be my honest question. A wolf in the wild wouldn't pick apart his dinner so that he didn't swallow any bones. And heck, even as a human whose gut *isn't* designed for those sorts of things, I know I've swallowed countless little fish bones. Like a lot of other people, I find these threads kind of frustrating. Wellness is a great brand of food. California Natural has had these kinds of accusations brought against it too, and that is another very good brand of food. Even if the photos are real (which I'm not so sure of, to be honest-- there's a lot of people in the world with weird agendas where pet food is concerned), have there been any actual reports of injury to a dog due to bone fragments in fish formula kibble, or is it all just people being squeamish? No harm, no foul as far as I am concerned. |
Eck, I only feed my puppy Wellness Puppy wet food. It has a lot of salmon in it - hope that doesn't bones. It's scary. |
