Dog Food?? What is a good dog food to feed my 3 yorkies? they seem so skinny to me. I feed the puppy Puppy chow and the 2 older dogs Dog Chow. Any suggestions?? |
Would you like to go grain free or not? High protein, moderate or low? |
Grain free wit moderate to high protein. |
Innova Evo has NO grain is very good in protein and fat, you can do INNOVA regular and that has VERY LITTLE GRAIN, you can also try Dick Van Pattens Natural Balance. These are all great foods that I have experience with. Others say Wellness, Orajen and a few others I am sure they will chime in soon ;) this place is very helpful. |
My favorites are Wellness CORE, Nature's Variety Instinct, Orijen, and I am considering Innova EVO. Good luck! :) |
My favorite is Life's Abundance - it's a diet designed by a Vetrinarian that actually KNOWS something about pet nutrition. If you would like informormation on it - just click on the link below in my signature. If you would like some free samples (so obligation at all) - Just PM me! NEVER RECALLED! |
I was thinking of trying royal kanin or Iams. I know a lot of research has been done on Iams. Has anybody tried Royal Kanin? |

Royal Canin, in my opinion, is overpriced for a low quality food. It has also been known to cause a lot of itching and allergic reactions in Yorkies. However, there are many members here who use it without a problem. |

I'll try that. Thanks. :) |
I love Natural Balance for a kibble, but I prefer raw (NV or Primal). I actually prefer Primal as all their meat is sourced from the US and animals are only fed US sourced grains so none of that contaminated junk from China. |

I recently tried Solid Gold, and I am very happy with it. I was having trouble getting my yorkie to eat wet dog food, forget about dry. He gobbles his Solid Gold kibble down light lightning, though. The company has had a few recalls, but if you look at their website, you'll see that the company is extremely vigilant and committed to quality food. They are very highly rated. One thing I have noticed is that Thor is pooping a lot more frequently, pretty much every time we go out, and his stools were harder than I would have liked. I've been giving him maybe a tablespoon of various veggies to help everything move through his system smoothly. |
