My furkids Donating Member | Morning Everyone! I get emails from Dog Age...I just received this one and thought I would share with all of you...I know at the holiday time we feel that our furbabies deserve a little something special....here is just a few things you should NOT give to them. I know that this has been discussed before but, there are A LOT of newbies here that I thought should know this...(some of you probably already do!) Table-Scrap Scares December 18, 2008 Sure, you'd like Fifi to share in the joys of the holiday table, but resist the urge to be generous. Foods and drinks you digest easily, like the following, can cause trouble for your pooch: Dinner rolls -- Dough expands in the stomach, creating distressing gas. Onions and garlic -- These flavor enhancers contain a compound that could damage a dog's red blood cells, causing anemia. Rich sauces -- Gravy upsets the stomach and may lead to pancreatitis. Bones -- Sharp pieces of bone can choke a dog or pierce or block her gastrointestinal tract. Alcohol -- Even slightly spiked eggnog can be toxic, so don't leave any drinks unattended.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Always such a great reminder! I love to treat my babies for the holidays too, but I just AMP UP their safe doggy treats -- no one wants to end up with a sick baby over the holiday!

| Great post. There are tons of things dogs can have that you cook around holiday time "before" they are flavored and buttered. There are also absolutely no-nos. This is the worst time of year for pancreatitis.
