I was feeding bad food ( which at the time I thought was good food) to my dogs with no idea of how bad it was till I came here. Funny thing is we eat Organic and natural healthy foods...but I never looked at my dogs food labels :confused: Now I know better.
I use the Blue Buffalo larger bag of puppy food and my dogs were on the Royal Canine; they still prefer that one. However I will switch over slowly to the Blue as it is better for them.

BTW: my dogs use to do the same with the little darker pieces but now they eat them all.

Hello!! I have had Snickers on the BG for 2 days so really can't tell you too much but we were out shopping today and Snick squatted and pooped out this perfect little poop (you know what I mean, not to hard, and compacted) so I am happy. Usually he has to push it out, but today it came out super fast. Also I notice in the kibble itself, you can see and smell the difference from the reg Merrick...I am happy with it and if anything goes wrong, I will update. I still do give Snickers grainy treats though but I am hoping he eats more kibble than treats soon since he is going potty less and less as he gets older. He gets treats when he potties...

We had the same problem with Maybelline. We started letting her have a few things at dinner turkey, chicken, and fresh vegetables. Then she refused to eat her Royal Canine Yorkie Food. I got a homecook recipe off of YT and used it for six weeks. After six weeks, I started adding a little Solid Gold Wee Bits to the home cooked and finally weened her off the home cooked completely. Also, we no longer free feed; she now only eats the Solid Gold in the Morning and Evening. We switched to Solid Gold because it was ranked higher than Royal Canine at dogfoodanalysis.com.

Also, Maybelline's bowel movements are much better on Solid Gold.

Welcome to YT! This is my first day...so Im a newbie too! Check out doberdogs.com to compare different ingredients and formulas. I feed Solid Gold and Natural Balance lamb & rice rolls.

Try Solid Gold's Hundchen Flocken Puppy ($9.29 for a 4lb bag; PETCO sales it). Baylee loves it, and it doesn't have anything in it like corn, which is hard for their little tummy to digest. ;) It was suggested that he be on this for about 10 months-a year, and then we should go with Just A Wee Bit by the same company. I hope this helps. :)

I'm currently feeding Fiona Iams Smart Puppy dry food, and when she turns a year she will be on Eukanuba Yorkie, since thats what the breeder was feeding her. She seemed to do well on it. Beautiful teeth! :D;)

I posted a while ago in this thread ....At the time both dogs were on a Blue Buffalo formula. We transitioned to BB wilderness. They both still seem indifferent to it and I am SOOO friggin tired of stepping on lifesource bits that I have started switching their food over to Natures Variety.

Since they wont eat the lifesource bits which I am left sweeping up or stepping on in the dark, were moving on!! Hopefully all goes well with NV, I have heard good things about it and I like the rotation part of it. So we will see. All I can do is try:) If it doesn't work out....on to the next one :D

I will let you know if I find one that they actually enjoy eating.Mine would go days with the same 1/4 -1/2 cup of food if I let them. I'm hoping to find something they will really enjoy eating.

I feed Harley Nature's Variety Raw Frozen Medallions. He absolutely loves it and goes crazy everytime I feed him. He never did that with kibble. We rotate flavors (chicken, rabbit, lamb, and venison). He still has some kibble left over (Blue Buffalo), so he has that at night until we run out. I might try the rotation diet with the NV kibble after the Blue is gone.
