| I understand that all I can get is advice and would appreciate any input. My Yorkie started caughing the second day I got her, she is 8 weeks old right now. I have had her for 5 days. I took her to the vet and he put her on clavamox- she is now panting ( for 2 days ). Not eating or drinking today... I took her back to vet and he said to wait it out. I am worried ! |

| Welcome to YorkieTalk ![]() When she doesn't eat, are you giving her nutrical or something like that? Panting sounds a bit odd. If she continues like this I think I'd get a second opinion.

| I am giving her sugar water - I just retired from being a miniature dachshund breeder of 4 years but on a very small scale - 5 females / 1 male. This breed is different so I wanted to ask if this was a normal thing in this breed. Just started the not wanting to eat- the panting has goteen me very worried. |

| If it is worrying you to the point of stressing...take her to another vet. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Good luck! Keep us posted! Sending healing prayers your way!

| I dont want to concern you but the only time my Jewels pants unless she is hot is when shes anxious. That with not eating concerns me that she may be in pain or something

| Any updates on Tiaira? It is very worrysome that she is having the problems that you described at such a small young age. (The breeder should have NEVER placed her in her home at under 8 weeks! That is waaaaay to young for a pup to be separated from mom and litter. But as a former breeder, you probably already know that...)I would definately make sure that she is eating some several times per day. And as mentioned, keep the nutrical on hand. When these little ones are so small, it doesn't take very long for something to affect their health. |

| She could be panting because she's a little scared. I would definitely rub some nutrical on her gums or put it on her tongue. You could always syringe her some water so she doesn't get dehydrated. Let s know what the new vet says. Waiting to hear from you.
