Donating YT 11K Club Member | Started feeding NV Raw- a few questions So i switched cold turkey cause i didnt think it was the right thing to put their kibble mixed in with it. First off i fed the lamb and London didnt want to eat it. She smelled it and walked away. After she saw Teddy and Sophie eat it she took a few bites but thats it. What should i do? Should i give her the chicken? I also mixed in fish oil in it. Teddy and Sophie like it, at first Teddy was iffy but he ended up liking it so thats good. They pooped after and their poop was firm, not diarrhea like the last time. But in the middle of the night one of them pooped and it smelled soooo bad! It was soft poop and lighter colored and it was a really bad smell, omg i almost threw up picking it up. Is this normal?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Anytime you're switching diets, I'd suspend use of oils, personally. Since diet switches can sometimes cause loose stools - you don't really want to put add'l oils in the mix, bc they would exacerbate looseness, if there was any. If it were me, I might try the lamb again - without the oil - and if that didn't work, I would then try the organic chicken, as most dogs go bonkers for it. As far as that smell, they could be detoxing a bit - so I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point. Again though, I'd stop the use of oils until digestion is settled. As for the color, not all of the medallions are like this - but the lamb is and I think maybe the venison is a bit too. I'm not sure why, but it must be something in the oxidation process and/or the nature of the meat itself. GOOD LUCK! It's exciting to switch to new diets!

| Regan didn't want to eat the lamb either so after we finally finished that bag I haven't tried it again, she has eaten the chicken well & the venison she just loves! the lamb was colored like that & wylies mom was right the venison is too! we are on our third bag of the venison she likes it soo much (she liked the beef better than the lamb too) I'm set up on auto delivery from pet food direct & I think for our next one I might try the rabbit. They can be so finicky sometimes you just don't know- I've also started giving her the NB small bites too which she really likes.
