| We use Aveeno oatmeal something or other here. It might even be the body wash. I have never heard of using oats and I would be nervous with the fur.

| Thanks, I already gave her a bath........I used one of my daughters old cotton shirt and put some oats and made a little pouch thingy Well hard to explain anywho, I put it the bathtub with HOT water and let the oats sit there.........none of them came out, as they started to get slimy I let the cold water run to regulate the water to warm temp. She loved it.........I can't tell if it helped her, as she is always rubbing herself after a bath

| She has allergies, and I took her to the vet about 2 1/2 weeks ago for itchies, he gave her a shot and some meds that seemed to help but she was extra itchy today I could not stand to see my baby in that desperation So I thought an oatmeal bath would sooth her.......... She is supposed to go tomorrow...........I even switched her food to Wellness Duck and Rice.......I think my vet wants to put her on a special diet for allergies They called me today and told me to take her in tomorrow as she is not getting better, and she then told me about switching her food

| Uggghhhh, I'm so tired of vets pushing Science Diet. We have dealt with food allergies here. Ellie is evidently allergic to corn. She started scratching up a storm when she was put on Royal Canin Vet Diet. We couldn't go to Science Diet for compromised livers because that has corn too, so we started homecooking again. Ellie got one shot (after the benadryl didn't work) and she is only mildly itchy sometimes. This usually only happens now when she gets a piece of food with corn product in it. The Wellness should be a good choice. Processed foods are so complex though so it's hard to say. Did you know that it can take up to 60 days for the body to detoxify and the new food to kick in? Your girl could be itchy for two months even on the new food (Wellness). Have you thought about cooking for her instead of going to Science Diet?

Donating YT 11K Club Member | I use Aveeno Soothing bath treatment 100% oatmeal. Several packets come in a box and you put the powder under running water. It's good for hives, sunburn, eczema, rashes, dry skin. I used it for Teddy once and it seemed to do him good.

| My rescue Pommie is allergic to corn, wheat, and eggs. He still has some itches but he's doing much better. If it gets worse I'm going to take him off of chicken and try lamb. Just some thoughts. |

| I also found an Oatmeal dog shampoo in the pet store. Also, AVON skin-so-soft is great for pure breeds with itchy dry skin provided that that the itch isn't from a skin allergy. |
