Yorkie Pup Posture Hi, I am new to the forums, I just recently got my girlfriend a yorkie. The yorkie pup is about 16weeks old. I am wondering on what posture the yorkies have, cause when he is standing on all fours, it almost seems like he has a hump on his back, kind of like a hunchback. But when he runs, he straightens himself out. Is this normal? I am a bit worried but he seems to be running and playing okay. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks

First of all, Welcome to YT. The hump is what is call a Roachback. A Roach back is not desirable on the breed. Is a genetic defect but is not harmful for the pup's health. You can research the all threads regarding roach back.

thanks for the info, i was a bit worried about the little guy cause it sort of looked funny. We picked him up cause I bought my girlfriend a cairn terrier 3 months ago and she wanted a play buddy with him, so a few weeks ago, I picked her up a yorkie. They play together pretty well, but the yorkie sometimes turns into a baby and hides behind my girlfriend. hhaha

yeah he's like that all the time. I'll post pics later. But i'm pretty sure he likes the environment cause he acts like he owns the place.
