| Feeding Chart? Is there somewhere on the site that has a dry food feeding chart? I never go by what's on the bag cause they want to sell dog food. Abby is 4.1 lbs. and I'm currently feeding her 1/3 cup of Royal Canin 33 per day. Is that about right or am I over/under feeding? Thanks in advance. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I really would start out using approximately what the bag says - bc some kibbles are more nutrient dense than others (so the volume you'd feed is different). For example, Nature's Variety Instinct is grain free and quite nutrient dense, so you'd likely feed much less volume than a Royal Canin food. Once they've been on any food for awhile, you could feed "to condition" - meaning, feel their ribs - they should feel not to prominent and too "padded".

Thanks for your input. I remember I fed my 2.7 lb Yorkie 1/4 cup per day and my Mom's Pom is 6.4 lbs. and eats 1/2 cup per day. So I kind of split the difference. I didn't think about the density though. The other two dogs were on Nutro Special for less active older dogs. | |
