| Treats for the liver compromised?!?! I believe every dog deserves some tastey treats from time to time... But I have had to throw away all of Copper's favorites since we started noticing problems. We are working on getting him to eat and everyday is another battle sometimes he will eat a whole portion othertimes I have to fight him for every bite he takes. Does anyone have any good recipies for low or no protein treats??? Or do you know of any good ones that we could get from the store, internet, etc??? We would love to have yummy treats in our house again!!!

| Gala apples! Paisley had her liver shunt surgery almost 4 weeks ago and is to be on a special diet. We don't give any treats but apples. Gala apples are her favorites! I peal and dice and she LOVES them! The vet approved apples for her.

| Have you tried peeled apple, watermelon, green beans? What food are you feeding?

| Doesn't like L/D? That would be frustrating. I had the vet order Royal Canin LS 14 for Ellie's liver and she ended up being allergic. RC isn't a great food and Yorkies are sometimes allergic to it but have you thought about trying the LS 14 soaked in water? Homecooked is the best in my opinion with the right recipe. What are the ingredients and supplements?

| I have been alternating between steamed white fish and cottage cheese as protient source, a veggie puree of sweet potato, carrots, celery, dried cranberries, zuchini, yellow squash and then we have been using either slow cooked oatmeal or egg noodle pasta. supplements are fish oil, multi vitamin. bone meal, choline, hepto support, selenium, this is my shorthand version of it Thanks to the wonderful help of a YT'er, and then I had to modify some to get him to eat, I also have been using a bit of low sodium veggie broth or a pinch of parmesean on top. If i don't slightly change it he wont eat it the next time, this morning he had one tiny bite and then was done, but yesterday morning he ate really well. Apples are a no go, he wont even try them, I feel like I have an anorexic dog!
