YT 2000 Club Member | Flea prevention ???? I saw a flea on Jeter when he got a bath the other night. I had to go get my dawn dish soap and put it on and their were a total of 4 fleas I got off of him!! He gets monthly treatment of K9 Advantix and it was started in March of this year and I have never missed putting this on him every 4 weeks Have any of you had this problem. I am going to be bringing home new puppies Axl comes home July 31 and Yumi Yasha comes home August 9. What more can i do to make my Jeter free of fleas? We Also treat the yard like every month too, as we have lots of stray cats roaming about. Should I bomb the house??

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Like other topical flea treatments...such as frontline...K9 Advantix kills the flea when it bites the dog. So it is still possible to find a flea on them.

YT 2000 Club Member | Thank you , Jeter is our first puppy and I was wondering how he could have a few fleas on him when he get's his meds! I truly thought it repelled fleas from getting on your dog. I guess that add about "NO FLEAS On Me " is a bit untrue My husband was flipping out because of how pricy it was for the flea meds and it wasn't working.. or so I thought

| Sometimes the fleas in your area build up a resistance to certain products and you have to switch brands. I used Frontline for years, but had to switch to K9 Advantix last year when I had a big problem with fleas. Where did you buy your K9 Advantix? There are a lot of counterfeit products on the market. It's not safe to buy them at the retail level, only through your vet or online pharmacies like KV Vet, Dr. Fosters & Smith, etc. A member on another forum got counterfeit flea treatment from Petedge last year! Here is the EPA article which shows you how to check to see if you got the real thing. EPA: Pesticides - Counterfeit Pesticide Products for Dogs and Cats |
