| It seems most everybody ask this question. My male yorkie's ears didn't stand on their own until he was 7 months old. My female yorkie's ears stood up at about 12 weeks. I did keep the male's ears shaved, I taped them once but he didn't like it so I removed the tape. Their ears will droop during the teething stages. Hope this help. |

| I was worried about my puppy at 10 weeks old. I If it were me I would tape shave off the top third of the ear, inside, out and around the edges. Then I would tape them. It only takes a few days or so, maybe a week for the cartlidge to harden. I felt it was better to be safe than sorry. Definitely, shave the hair off, even if you decide not to tape.

| I'm so afraid to shave it. What kind of shaver do you use? I'll see if my husband can do it for me.

Yorkie Yakker | This was something I was worried about too so we would shave Moses' ears periodically. Then a few weeks ago his ears just started standing up outta the blue. He's 4 months old. I'd recommend shaving them to give them some help. My baby wouldn't keep the tape on when i attempted it. I actually had my dad shave them with Wahl clippers, i was scared to do it myself!

| my baby's ears were down but popped up around 3.5 months. i had the groomers shave the tips of her ears. also, i gave (still give) her doggie multi vitamins w. extra calcium and yogurt. in hopes that it would help the process along.

| I just use regular human clippers. They are Wahl I think. I use the lowest guide which will leave a little bit of hair on the ear, just enough so that your pup's ears won't look naked. I do the bottom 1/3 third of the ear in a point. Bring the middle down to a oint. You want the hair to start growing on the bottom part of the ear. You'll get the hang of it really quick. After you do it a fea times, you will get a little guide line. Just stay right in that line. Then go ahead and tape them for a few days and see if they stay up. Just cut four pieces of adhesive tape, or even tan masking tape. Hold one piece in your hand and lay the tip of the ear in the tape and then put the other directly over it. Then do the other ear. Shouldn't take you 15 minutes to clip and tape. Send me a pm and let me know how you do.

| Hi, Scooter is 15 weeks and his ears are down, but I think he looks cute! Will they just stand up on his own even without the hair shaved? I want them to go up eventually, but right now they suit his face down! I just don't want them to stay down forever because when he grows into his face I think they'll look a lot better up - so should I shave them now or will they just go up with time?
