got abbys bloodtest results ok so i spoke to the vet n he said her "alkain phosphatose level was 192" he said it was a little bit high n that it wasn't a big problem in puppies cuz their bones are growing (something like that) should i be worried???? n he also said one of her kidneys... something about BUN or BUM n that she was a little dehydrated yesterday so the day of her spay they are goin to check her again and if she happens to be a lil dehydrated, they will fix that. anyway shud i worry about thse two things?? i think im gonna just give her some gatorade everyday once a day just in case. im getting a lil bit worried. is this ok tho??? |
I hope someone can give you some answers, because I cannot. I hope everything is ok though.:) |
Were any of the others abnormal? like ALT, AST, ALB? Is your baby on a high protein diet? |
Other than BUN is referring to kidney function...I have no clue what the other means. When my vet tells me information...I do not understand....I ask questions and don't leave until I understand what I'm being told. It's their job...don't leave their office until you understand. |

Of course they will :) They HAVE to fax them to you if you ask for them. I always get a copy of all the bloodwork/urinalysis tests that they do on my babies. |
It sounds like your vet is not too concerned. I would probably just repeat the bloodwork in a couple of weeks. |
ok here is the results sheet.. help 1 Attachment(s) i hope u guys can read it. the vet said really shud not worry about the things that say high. i trust him but i just want some further input |

I would kindly ask that when you are requesting advice for HEALTH and EMERGENCY issues, that you please write out your sentences fully - not using abbreviations. In other sections, I'm not so concerned. But in these sections in particular, it actually concerns me quite a bit due to the possibility of misinterpretation of what you may or may not be saying. |
The BUN wouldn't concern me too much right now because it looks like she is getting a lot of protein and dehydration is always a question when it's high. You might want to have it rechecked as Yorkieluv suggested but make sure she is fully hydrated and you might want to cut back on a bit of the protein right before. If it doesn't go down I then would be concerned. Can't help with the other one but since it's out of reference range, I'd definately keep an eye on it. |
Hello Jesse, I'm sorry I can't help either, but I'm sure all will be well. I agree that you should always get everything explained, in a way you can understand what the vet is telling you. I'd also like to say hello, because my husband and I stayed in Linden NJ two years ago on holiday, at Thanks Giving. We are spending Thanks Giving in Queens this year. I love New York, and I love the American people. :D |

I would definatley have the Bun redone in 2 weeks. 56 is getting up there. I had Dixie in kidney failure and hers was way over 400 so it probably is just dehydration but I would want a repeat. |
ok i will get it done again in about a month or so. after her spay n everything i want her to be relaxed and not stressed with too many needles and all that. thanks so much guys. i will sleep better tonight. i love u alllllll |
