Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh my gosh - poor baby! WHY does the vet have him on furosemide, which is normally for heart failure, high blood pressure, kidney issues, liver issues? Has his heart been checked? Does the vet think there is fluid in the lungs? Really concerning - I hope you come back! Maybe get another vet's opinion?

| furosimide She started with bronchitis but now vet thinks she has slightly enlarged heart, and fluid on lungs/ heart. She is eating well but very lethargic. With too much activity she starts choking/coughing/honking. Next step will be to specialist I guess. Anyone have similar problem with their Yorkie?? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My 11 year old pom was just put on furosemide for congestive heart failure. Sha also has a collapsed trahea and cushing's disease. The coughing has improved a lot with the furosemide and she is a lot more comfortable. She couldn't even lay down she was so filled with fluid. Have they checked your baby for heart problems? How much furosemide are you using? Maya was on 2 day but she was peeing non stop day and night so I cut her to one a day and will check with the vet today if that is ok. Hope you get some answers and relief.

| furosimide Meggie gets one/half pill morning and one/quarter evening. She weighs just over 8 lbs( thru inactivity). Some days she's pretty good and some not. We also have a very slim healthy male Yorkie Colby 7 yrs old, very active, but he can't figure out whats wrong with his sister.???? This all started after we took them to Florida, on plane and came back to cold weather here in CAnada. Regards, Pat |
