Help! 9wk puppy doesnt like to eat & has hypoglycemia alot!! Can anyone help me out on things to do to try to get my puppy to eat. Right now I can get her to eat gerbers baby food chicken (stage2) mixed with boiled chicken, sometimes Im able to sneak alittle crushed up Eukanuba in it. But when she does it its BARELY a teaspoon. She has had 6 hypoglycemic attacks in 3 weeks. Luckily Ive caught them fairly early on and she came out with in 30 minutes. My biggest problem is she acts like she hates or doesnt know how to eat. The breeder wanted me to let her come back for couple weeks but I found out she really owns a small puppy mill so theres NO way I can let her go back! Maybe her problems stem from that. She checked out fine at vet, weighing 1.5lbs! She is VERY healthy acting other than this problem!! Thanks for any help or advice anyone has out there! Ive been gettin little sleep bc I check on her every couple hours since ALL the attacks happend in the WEE hours of morning.

Ohhhhh she is so tiny. I would, like you say, really keep an eye on that blood sugar. Usually when you give them something for it, or at least this is what mine did, it stimulates them to eat. Have you tried Gerber's baby cereal. (Rice) Mix it with deluted carnation milk. Maybe she would like that. Good luck, I know its hard. Don't blame you at all for not taking her back to something like that. Hope she starts eating soon and is healthy despite her start in life. God bless you and your little one.

This is serious. You need to be giving her nutrical every couple of hours. Also put some Kayro syrup in her water bowl. And/or maybe try squeezing alittle bit of honey ontop of her food to see if she will eat. When mine came home from the breeder, I was told to give a little bit of boiled chicken (shredded pieces) and drizzle some honey ontop. I had to do this in the AM and PM and I would also give a pea sized amount of nutrical for them to lick off my finger. Euk. isn't the greatest food. Merrick brand has some Wet Canned food that almost looks good enough for myself to eat

Thanks.. We have been doing the nutrical twice a day! Once when she wakes up and once and night. The days she eats good we have no problems but the days she dont I can just tell. Is it common to be such a picky eater or could it be the way she was taught to eat from the lady I got her from? ?
