Pete Had Severe Skin Problems Also Pete is 3 and has a heart murmer so the vet cannot give him steroids for his skin condition. She prescribed a conditions to use after bathing which didn't help. The groomer put some Tea Tree Oil on him which helped and also said the get a spray that is used on horses for skin infections--the co-ops know what to give you. That worked also. Then I chagned his food to Eaglebrand with duck and have had no more skin problems. |
No she as always suffered from different problems. From us getting her two years ago it was when we first took her to the vets for the first time just after we got her that they found out she had the mange. We have got on the top of that but its the infections that comes one after the other now. |
We were also told about the stuff you put on horses it was my mother in law that told us.But the vet said it is to strong for her so we did not go ahead with it. |
There has to be help for her. Gosh 3 years old, she is so young, she deserves to live a happy life..... Maybe her immune system needs to be boosted as well to help fight the infections. What food does she eat? Any supplements? Have you tought about feeding her some Coconut Oil daily? I don't know if it will help, but it can't hurt, there is a lot of healthy benefits associated with Coconut Oil. Also, Aloe Vera Gel (orally) is also suppose to help boost immune systems. earthclinic Have you checked out "earthclinic.com" Click on -pets- and you might find a cure there. The coconut oil helps my babies skin stay healthy on the outside and inside. |

The infections that she has are all from her skin right? :aimeeyork Please, please, please do not give up on her. SHe is a very young dog, and I think that if your unable to care for her, that quite possibly someone on this site would be very interested in providing a new home for her.:animal-pa |
re re yorkie put to sleep We have not given up on her we love her to much to give up on her.It just breaks my heart to see her suffer like she as being poked and prodded every time we go to the vets. I have decided not to have her put to sleep we are just going to carry on trying to find some body that could help. Thanks for all your help and advise on her it was apperciated i will let you all know what happens in the future because i think that you all woull like to know. Thanks Joanne Mum to Max and Cindy |
yorkie put to sleep I don't know if you have gotten the allergy thing figured out or not, but I know most yorkies cannot eat anything with yellow corn in it. They get canine seberia?? ssp I had the same problem with my yorkies years ago and someone told me about the corn problem and so I tried a dog food without corn and so far it has worked. Now I check the ingredients and if it says yellow corn I put it back on the shelf. SO FAR SO GOOD. Donna & her furbabies :wavey: |
I'm so glad you decided against putting her to sleep. Keep us posted on her progress. Quote:

Re Re Yorkie Of course i will keep you all posted on Cindy progress thanks for all the advice. From Joanne Mum to Max and Cindy |
Have you thought about an alternative doctor? For instance a homeopath? Plenty do treatments over the phone or via email and they can be incredibly effective...I agree with everyone else about seeking some more opinions...If you check out AHVMA - Home you can see a list of holistic/ homeopathic vets. Try emailing a few with the info about your furbaby's situation. I know that it can sound hokey, but these vets often can revive a sick animal with diet and homeopathic care. Dr. Bernstein at www.naturalholistic.com is incredible and has been practicing homeopathy for many years. Keep us up to date!!! |

re: putting pup down Do you have a Veterinary College by you? I would try them. We have a GREAT vet school here at UC Davis. Maybe your vet could send some blood samples to them and try and figure out wht is going on. My Buttons used to scratch and scratch, our vet changes his food to a hypoalergenic one and he's much better.:) Good Luck :love: |
No we dont have a veterinary college near us.I would not know if there is one on the whole of Scotland if there is i dont know were it is and my hubby does not know even though he as live here all is life. From Joanne |
