Excellent, I forgot to add the pedialyte in my post, but YES get that for him. When my TJ was young, he had the mucus poop episodes for about a year, I was at the Vet at least 2x a week, so I know how stressful it can be seeing your baby sick. :( |

Im forgetting how far toms river is from me but you should try calling Delaware valley vet in Mullica hill NJ they are really good and not expensive at all Delaware Valley Veterinary Hospital |
Thanks everyone!! The vet said there was no parasites and he's must have eaten something he shouldn't have. He gave me pills and said he should be good in 2-3 days. So I'm happy it's nothing. Hopefully he won't get too stressed out from flying back on Wednesday night. Thanks for all your advice tho! Don't know what I'd do without YT! |
Oh yea i forgot to mention I got the idea to give plain smashed pumpkin from here. But, when I told they vet, he said that it's pumpkin filling that helps bind the stool? I don't know maybe I read the thread wrong. Does anyone know is it really pumpkin pie filling i should have given him? |

Poor little fella - he'll be better in no time :D |
Btw, stop the carrots ASAP. Carrots can actually give some dogs diarrhea - esp. if/when they're not used to them. Anytime a dog is having digestive stress - veggies are *not* the answer. When having digestive stress, think: **fiber (canned pumpkin) **probiotics (yogurt or supplements) **water/hydration (pedialyte or give water w/ a bit of karo or honey) **bland food that they'll eat (mashed potatoes, white rice, white fish) **no fat I feel so bad for you - how awful when traveling. Please let us know how he's doing. :) |
Thanks Ann. I haven't given him the carrots since Saturday afternoon. He's finally better. All poops today were normal! yay!!! Hopefully he won't get stressed from out plane ride tomorrow night tho. I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope for the best. I'm soo happy he's better and I can finally relax while visiting my family. |
