| No appetite for his food. Oliver is currently on purina pro plan puppy chow. He doesn't seem to like it very much. I have to refill his small bowl every day, but it seems like he should be eating more, given that he's about three and a half months old now. He isn't malnourished and has grown a lot since I brought him home a month and a half ago, so I'm not worried about this effecting his nutrition. He eats when he's hungry and stops when he's not, I just wish he liked his food. Anyway, I cannot find canidae or artemis or any other often-recommended brands around this forum at petsmart, and there are no other stores nearby that I would be able to find them at. So how are the petsmart brands? Particularly Blue Buffalo. I researched it and it seems to have pretty good reviews, but idk. And what do you do to ensure that your dogs are going to like the food you bring home? I can't really get samples for him to try all the time until he finds one he likes. |

| Some stores will have kibble samples or let you bring the food back if it doesn't work for you. Do you have access to Wellness or Natural Balance? How about canned food? How much food does he eat a day (in cups)?

| I don't have access to the high quality brands either. I ordered Canidae off the net. I have a difficult time getting my 3.5 lb. senior to eat sometimes, so I put a little warm water on it and stir it around. Seems like it makes the flavor come out or something, and she will eat willing. I've also heard of using salt-free, fat-free chicken broth as an enticer. Was wondering how much you want him to eat? My 3.5, and two 5 lb. Yorkies all get 1/8 c. morning and evening. My 8 lb. Pommie gets 1/4 c. morning and evening. I also add mushed up salt-free green beans and a little fat-free yogurt. Someone else may have better ideas or disagree with me. I'm still learning.
