Tips for Fighting Bad Breath - YorkieTalk.com Forums

There have been so many threads lately asking for help w/ bad breath that I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread composed of advice for taking on this problem that others can read.

Here are my suggestions:

1) Brush your dogs teeth regularly.
2) Bad breath for dogs losing their puppy teeth is common and normal.
3) Make sure that your dog does not need to have it's teeth cleaned.
4) I personally use and recommend and oral care product that is added to water. I prevents plaque buildup and helps w/ breath.

Anybody else have any suggestions to add?

Which oral care product do you use, I ordered some from petco should be here today. How often do you brush their teeth?

I use the Petkin brand from PetSmart...I'd used another one before that was in a light blue bottle, but the Petkin seems to work just as well.

I use something called Triple Pet all natural toothpaste. It contains Tea Tree oil. Is that o.k?

Does anyone recommend Petzlife for oral care? I saw it at a store yesterday and their advertising is very convincing.
