I am so very sorry that little Laya is having skin/hair problems. I always suggest starting with a good vet check up to make sure that there is nothing physically wrong. The next step would be to be sure that you are feeding a good quality, coat friendly food - and knowing you I am sure that you are :D. Emu oil is a fantastic supplement. When I started having dry coat problems with Chattie, I tried several different foods, using each one at least 6 months to give it plenty of time to see a difference. What works for me is Canidae All Life Stages. I give her about 3 to 5 drops of Emu Oil daily as a supplement. The difference in her coat is incredible. I use MinkSheen Shampoo and after baths I use about 5 or 6 drops of the same Emu Oil I use as a food supplement into her coat. |

You can use Marcel's nutritionist - I used her over the phone (only) bc she is in California - she is WONDERFUL!!!!!!! Here is her website: www.askariel.com. Click on her "allergies" area too - I'm guessing she'll want to do some homeopathy with you. The Vitamineral Greens is for people (and babies), but many use it for their dogs - I mentioned "grasses" bc there is wheat grass, barley grass and a few others - and I wasn't sure if Layla would have issues with that...? I would be SO excited if you got in touch with Susan - bc she really does know her stuff - and if anyone could help you w/ this chronic stuff, I really think it would be her. If you do make an appt. for a consult - write down EVERYthing you can think of - all the history, the symptoms, what you've tried, the foods - all of it, blood tests - so she gets the full picture. EllieMay's Mom (Crystal) also knows of a nutritionist - so you might ask her too! :D |
I'm sure Ann will have a recommendation for a nutritionist for you but to find one you just google it. They do phone consults, so you could use someone from the US... |

I give Jambo supplements from ESP (Esssential Soluble Plantcell). He gets the Vitamin-Mineral, Immune Building, and Skin-Hair-Joint formulas. I give him half a dropper morning and night. http://mypetnaturally.com/Manufacturers/ESP.html |
Poor Layla, it must be so miserable for her to be so itchy:( And for you too, watching her suffer through it. Big hugs to you! Anyway, whenever you try a new supplement with her, start with an itty bitty amount and slowly work up to the full recommended dosage, as tolerated. That might help:) |
