Hello!!

I've noticed that Lexie pees...a lot in the morning. For example between 9:30 exactly and 10 am Lexie peed 2 times outside and 2 times inside (

). Could this be a possible UTI? How do you take a urine sample from a female dog? Should I get her looked at anyways since she is being spayed on Wednesday?

I would have the vet take a urine sample rather than you trying to catch a urine sample yourself. If you take it yourself, you take a high risk of contaminating the urine. The vet can take the sample in the office.

The vet can take it cystocentesis.
I would get it checked out well before the spay.
Doing elective surgery with an infection present isn't something I'd want to do.

I brought Lexie to the vet right after my first set of classes today and they said that her urine showed the begining signs of a UTI but I caught it very early. (

) So we are starting her on antibiotics and the vet will check the infection before her surgery on Wednesday and if there is any sign of infection we won't do the surgery.

I'm very nervous for the spay...
