Problems With Teeth?
 
my baby is about 6 months old.. and i noticed that his new canines are growing BEHIND his old canines.. it's worrying me and i don't know if that's normal or if i should do something about it?

PLEASE HELPPP

this unfortunately is very common in small breed dogs. If they do not fall out on their own you will need to have the deciduous teeth pulled when she gets spayed.

My Feather is 10 months old and has two complete sets of teeth. I keep trying to losen them but they are not the least bit loose. I hope to get her spayed in about 2 months and hope at least some will come out by then. I don't know if my vet will do a spay and pull all those teeth at once. In 18 years I've never had another have all these retained teeth.

i also noticed that his teeth aren't coming out.. they're just chipping and breaking...

i don't know if that has anything to do with his diet or not? i've been feeding him dog food.. and lots of veggies for treats.. i mean.. i think his diet is fine..

i can't figure out what could be wrong

and... i hope it's not expensive to get his teeth removed.. ahh.. the vet did mention they might need to take his baby teeth out before he gets neutered.. and i was thinking that it was just a way for them to make money.. but i guess not...?

what brand of dog food are you feeding? i'm sure its fine. your not doing anything wrong. i think 90% of the people on this site have dogs that had to have their baby teeth pulled when they were fixed. its easiest to do it while their under anesthesia for the neuter, this way they don't have to go under again.

Actually it is a great time to get them out. No extra charge for anesthetic. My vet only charges $6 per tooth if it is done at time of spay or nueter

he had royal canin when i got him from his breeder.. and then i started feeding him nutro? i believe.. it's one my sister has been feeding her baby since he was a baby and it helps his coat and teeth and everything! really good food... i recommend it.. anyyyway.. now that i went off the subject...

really? i thought it would be expensive.. i guess it won't be too bad.. is there a chance they might fall out later on? or no?

that price is not bad at all.. we'll see how much my vet charges..

he's gonna go in to get neutered in about 2 weeks!!

there is a chance that they will fall out later on but then there is the chance that they won't. then you'll have to put him under again and it will be more expensive since you will have to pay for anesthesia again.

that's true.. i might as well get it done while he's under.. i'll have to ask how much it is.. when i go in next week.
