| do yorkie puppies have a soft spot? today i noticed my 9 week old puppy has a tiny soft spot on her head. it is about the size of a small finger tip. im worried that this is a defect and she will always have this like some yorkies do. the vet didnt say anything about it/notice it. could it be that she just has it cus she is young and it will close up? or do i have to be extra careful there now |

YT Addict | sassy had a soft spot when we got her at 8 weeks old the vet said that she was too premature to get at that age, her soft spot was gone by 12 weeks old you may want your vet to check it

| Some yorkie pups have them and eventually they close up and sometimes they dont close. A yorkie pup that was going to get once had one. Definitely bring it to your vets attention

| It is called an open fontanel and if it is that big, it likely won't close. Your breeder needs to be informed. |

| If it does not close, you need to keep an eye on her. Some, not all dogs with soft spots my also have hydrocephalus...Please bring it to your vets attention.

| When I got my boy, he had quite a large open spot. It has mostly closed. You just need to be very careful right now as a bump to that area of the head could be very dangerous.
