She's STILL Eating her Poop! I STILL can't get Ariel to stop eating her poop. We tried giving her pineapple, For-bid ... then negative reinforcement ... it won't work! We try as much as possible to get rid of her poop immediately after she goes, but she's such a quick little stinker at times. I bought SEP last week, and it has been doing great until this morning. I woke up to lots of poop on her pad (she usually goes poop in the afternoon), so I didn't think she actually ate any. I guess she really missed the taste of poop because about an hour later, I hear her gag a little, and then vomit. TWICE. ALL POOP!   Someone give me a solution please   |
I caught Toto 2 times last night trotting in some poopcicles. Like it's not that he doesn't get fed:rolleyes: He eats like a little pig:eek: Next time I am going to put a muzzle on him (just kidding) So now all I say is "NO POOP IN THE HOUSE" or else. My kids never wanted to know "what else" was and so far neither does the dog. |

I was once told by another vet that I once used to sprinkle meat tenderizer on their food and that they would not like the taste nor smell once they pooped and would stop eating it. It worked for my great dane! |
What are you feeding again? Sometimes switching food does the trick. |
I was told they are do it. Well most dogs do. Sometimes they say if it continues that they are missing some nutrients. Maybe change foods with more nutrition. This may help! Good Luck! |
I would think maybe your pup is missing something in its diet if this continutes... |
I have one dog that does this. This may not be an option for you, but once I started feeding raw, prey model, no more eating poop!:D Their stools are so small now cause their little bodies use up all the nutrients that I guess there's nothing fun left to eat. Other than that, I could never get her to stop eating it. I had just ordered some SEP and by the time it came, I didn't need it, so there it sits unopened.:( |
Every now and then Chloe treats herself to a fine turd or two. She used to be really bad! She also has a habit of moving her poop around from one pee pad to the other. Dunno maybe an animal instinct to hide there tracks. |

ewwwwwwwww, that reminds me of scooby, he used to RUSH to eat his and Bandit's poop like it was the best thing he ever age, then gag and make strange sounds but still licking his lips, that is so gross when they do this. |

Could this be a yorkie trait ,the eating of poop? |
Yup, Yup, Yup, Romeo is still eating his. He is alot faster than we are. Although it isn't as much lately. |
Lexie does this too!!! Beau sneeks in a poop or two probably a month but I need to watch Lexie like a hawk! If she poops, guarentee she will eat it! I can tell you this, it has gotten so bad my boyfriend and I NAMED their bad breath... we call it "Flaming Poop Breath". Ha ha. We should make a "Flaming Poop Breath Club"!! For all of those crazy yorkies who feel eating a fresh poop is the perfect reward for going potty in the right spot! :D |
I had hope I wouldn't still be in this category, but both Roxy and TJ are 3 years old now and they still have not stopped completely. I have tried EVERYTHING! Nothing worked for them. Now, the ONLY thing has worked, is that I have them on a good schedule. They eat in the AM and then poop, and I get to flush it. They eat in the PM and then poop, and I get to flush it. ...Now each time, we have such a party, Good Boy, Good Girl, Whew Who, Whistling, etc....And after they follow me to flush it, we race to the Kitchen to get a treat. :) This works so well, that TJ (smart little fellow) comes to get me to show me that he pooped. TJ will also come and get me when Roxy is in the box pooping. He wants his treat ;) Unfortunately, there are times that 'someone' also has a mid afternoon poop, and since NO ONE is there to get it, they have a poop snack :( |

There were many days that I brushed teeth at least 4 times  But, now with them on their routine, things are a lot better :D |
I am surprised the For-Bid didn't work. Everyone I have ever talk to prior to you swears by. Maverick is starting to eat poop, but not his. He will only eat Keely's which I find kind of weird. According to what I have read online sprinkle some Tabasco on the feces and let the dog try to eat it. It won't hurt or harm the dog, just make the feces unappetizing to them. Kind of like putting vinegar on a childs thumb to stop them from sucking it. |

Some things work for some while others not. I wouldn't use For-bid ever again - it has Wheat Gluten in it and with that China scare...:( |

And, you have no idea how much I wished for the For-bid to work, especially since the vet recommended it to us. We bought a TINY packet for $8 ... what a waste  |

Mine prefer the cats' poop. They manage to make it to the litter box and if I put it any higher, the cats won't be able to get to it. They find what is buried out back. Roxy can even dig in the frozen ground to get it - Remi just eats the left overs. Maybe if I put meat tenderizer on the cats food.........:p . |

...I too switched to Raw hopeing to stop the poop eating. It did help, but didn't stop it, and b/c they have liver issues now, I had to change back to home cooked meals. At this point, it's strictly behavioral issues as to why mine eat it. So I must get to it first :p |

Anyhoo, I rotate her food with NV Venison & NV Rabbit. I'm staying away from the chicken because I have a strong feeling that that causes her allergies. |
It's not just a yorkie thing..my papillon goes into the cat's litter box and eats their poop...it's sooo gross! I finally put the litterbox in the garage..but he still occasionally gets a hold of one  |
Its just weird how Chloe loves it! My other dogs don't want anything to do with Poop but Chloe acts like its a Truffle or something. Sniffs it out, chomps on it, gags, and licks her lips. Then I immediately run from her so I don't get her wicked turd breath. |
Tiffy was a poop eater too and Nothing can be more disgusting  The meat tenderizer did the trick for us!! |
i cant beleve they eat poop its soooo funny lol coco has never done this but im sure i would cry if she did its too gross but hilarious hahhaah |
