| and the vet says.... maggie has lost some weight!!! we have been trying to get about a half pound off her...she had quite the layer of fat on her so it seems to have paid off. we went in for yearly shots and check up today and she had gone from 6.1 lbs to 5.4 lbs. so that is good she also got a little hair cut and it really makes her look thinner I'll be posting pics soon. but my battery on my camera is dead I'll try to post tomorrow

| Congrats Maggie. It must be tough trying to get the weight off of her. Layla is probably a little on the pudgy side herself but i'm hoping since being away (with all the walking) she will have lost the 1/2 lbs. I'm going to stop in the vet this week and hope we have the same result you did Congrats again! |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Good for Maggie! Can I ask how she did it Diet? Exersise? Tummy tuck? LOL Seriously though, my Lucky is either chubby or just really solid...probably both, and we're not having much luck slimming him back. I think he's been sneaking in on the puppy food we've had around from Lexie's puppys as hard as we try to keep him away from it. So if you or anyone has any tricks up their sleeve for yorkie diets, I'd love to know what they are.

| maggie hasn't really got much more exercise than she usually does, but we did cut her food back. she now gets 1/4 cup per day, broken up into 2 meals. she is getting more veggies for treats instead of regular dog treats. she gets yorkie yummies and a few other treats once in a while, but her primary "treats" are carrots and green beans. she was getting about 1/2 cup of food per day so we cut it back slowly to 1/4 cup which was recommended by her vet and the food distributer. it seems to have worked in fact, we cut back the food for all 3 dogs by a little and they have all lost weight. our min pin is 13.5 lbs, he used to be 15.7. my cocker is 25.6, she used to be just over 28 lbs. so it has been good for everyone

| Good job Mom It's so hard not to give them treats all the time, I know Izzy was getting a little pudgy and we've had to cut down on her treats and it's SO HARD But worth it for their health Go Maggie

| way to go to the entire family!! Really part of the weight loss, is the retraining of humans - I think so often its us that thinks they need more. I am a huge believer in measuring food & not free feeding. Having an animal at proper weight I believe extends their life span - just like for us.

| That's great! I was wondering if she had lost any weight. I bet all that exercise she got playing with Dixie helped! I swear they played nonstop! I was really careful not to give her too many treats while she was visiting with us since I knew you had her on a diet. She mostly got the same treats as Lily which is dried sweet potatoes, cantaloupe and apple. She also loved the veggie puree I mixed in with her food to help fill her up without many more calories, let me know if you want to know what was in it. I think Dixie may have lost some weight too. She needed to lose about 1/2 lb which I think she did thanks to Maggie!
