My girls have very flaky scaley skin w/itching. My vet recommended Phoben medicated shampoo by Virbac. I ordered it off of Amazon and I got it in the mail today. It can be used on puppies or adult dogs. I am going to bathe them tonight and I will let you know who it worked! Our dogs are on Blue Buffalo Freedom, so he doesn't think it is the food that is causing their itching. |
I use the Hy-Lyte hypo- allergic shampoo I get from the vet. Now my little poodle had really bad dry flaky skin and I took her to the derm dr. He said put her on Natures Receipe Venison. Do you know that cleared her up! Venison is a food that helps the skin. I had all of my dogs on that food but now switched to Blue Buffalo. Little Chips the poodle passed away old age. I am questioning the use of methodiothone in this food. Check it out. Try the venison base and see if it helps with the skin. |

I had a poodle with that dry flaky skin. She licked and it stunk. I took her to a dog dermatologist and he said put her on a venison base diet. It worked for her. I do believe alot of the dog foods out there are causing our dogs skin problems. Read the labels and choose carefully. I use Hy-lyte shampoo from the vet. I use Espree conditioner I think from Petco. I like these two. Hope your dog gets better soon! |
I used PetHead Feeling Flakey shampoo. It worked for Yoshi in 2 baths. |
Update They did testings on my dog for allergies and I found out tonight that he's allergic to certain types of grass. No wonder he's always sneezing~! No food allergies tho, which I thought might of been the issues. Edit: Just got an email and found out Kentucky is ranked high in allergies http://www.webmd.com/allergies/ss/sl...13_ld-stry&mb= |
