Gizmo is supposed to have a bath today too, but I'm worried about how to do it with his ear infection. He's on GentaVed Otic Solution (Gentamicin sulfate with betamethasone valerate) Should I just put cotton balls in his ears and be extra careful? Or should I wait to bathe him? |
Judy, sorry to hear your Gizmo baby is having ear problems...Winston and I wish him well. I really don't know much about this, as Winston sees his groomer very 2 weeks...and she does it all for me, including removing the hair from the inside of his ears and cleaning them. Personally I'd wait on the bath if he has an infection...maybe just a few days. Hugs to you both... |

If he is due for his bath you can give it to him just when it's time to wash his head fold down his ears. I always fold them down to be sure no water gets in there. |
Thank you everyone! :) |

I think she means hemostat to take the hair out of the ears... |
I was also told to find an ear powder...sprinkle a little in his ear...then put a Q-tip into the inside ear hair and twist...then pull. I haven't had the courage to try it yet though. And yes, hemos are probably hemostats. They are used to clamp off blood vessels and such during surgery. They look like a combination of scissors and clamps. |
So how is Gizzy doing? |
He's great. :) Thanks for asking. How are Tina and Tbone doing? We sure miss having a house full of yorkies. ;) |
