What to feed him? When I got my baby at 13 weeks, the breeder was already feeding him Pedigree so that's what I stuck with. I inquired and the response I got was that Pedigree isn't a good dog food because it has more fillers than anything. I've thought about the raw diet but I'm not quite sold on it yet. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should feed him? |
There's lots of information on here about food... Im sure someone will post a link for you soon (I dont know how)... none the less, the most important thing to do when looking for a food is NO FILLERS... no foods with corn... i started with Eukanueba, then Iams and now after finding this great site, i've switched my baby to Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul and she loves it.... Others seem to like Innova, Timerwolf and Canidea - hope this helps :) |
I prefer homecooking but some good canned foods are Evangers, Canidae, Innova and Evo (if you want grainless). I don't like kibble at all but you could go with Innova, Canidae, Chicken Soup, Solid Gold, Natural Balance, Life's Abundance or Orijen (very high in protein and grainless) to name a few. |

I guess you kind of have to decide what will work for you: a premium kibble, homecooking, or raw...and go from there. :D |

Oh wow that's really good. Is it plentiful though? |
Wylie's Mom's assessment of the cost of homecooking is correct.:) It can get quite expensive if you go with top-of-the-line foods. Ellie pooped once a day on kibble and she poops once a day on homecooked. You can look up homecooking in the Health and Diet section and you will find a lot of info. |
Thanks a bunches everyone!!!:D |

When people say they homecook and it is cheaper than kibble, I have a hard time believing it. It is impssible, especially if you go organic and Amish. It costs right around $25-$30 a month here too without supplements. |
Wow!!! That does deserve a daaaaayyyyyyyyuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmm lol |
