I am so sorry about your puppy. Did the vet do an autopsy to confirm your puppy died of a heart attack or is that just your guess as to why it died? I hope the breeder replaces the puppy for you.

I am so sorry for your loss. :( I didn't know either that dogs/puppies could have heart attacks. But everytime Rudy goes to the vets, they do listen to his heart.

I had the pup two months, she had been to the Vet, healthy, had all her shots. Didn't seem to have any problems anyone was aware of. We were out of town with her when it happened. I didn't have an autopsy done, it wouldn't bring her back, and I honestly couldn't bear to have it done. The Vet had no other explaination for it, she did look at her seconds after she died, and I talked to the Vet as it was happening, just a sad horrible experience

Can you speak to the breeders vet and see what they found at the well puppy check before it left the breeder and if there was none, then the breeder has no clue how the heart was...except from the fact it could feel it beating...
agreed. a healthy pup doesnt just die. Could it hae gotten into halloween candy, chocolate?? That could cause it. Candy & puppies do not mix. Sorry for your loss:(

no, no candy, no chocolet , no children, no reason. been through it all. Guess you don't know the heart ache unless it would happen to you. Then I could ask if you fed your dog chocolet candy.

I'm sorry for your loss as i've lost a little guy too. I know that your feelings are sensative now during your grieving and I don't believe the poster meant anything then to offer a suggestion as many more will. Please realize that many many people here are truly awesome people and that their posts generally are heartfelt and not accusatory.

So very sorry to hear this, my god, at that age, this had to be a genitic..and the breeder will not give you another puppy...
I have been in your shoes, and it is a very hard thing to go through..
was she a good breeder that stands behind her baby\'s..this would not be good advertising for her at all...lots of buyer of yorkies on this site..
