| Puppy hair at 1?? Sawyer is a year old. he is my first yorkie, so I am a little confused. When I comb or brush him, He has hair in the comb or brush, and I sometimes find little fur balls floating around. Is he still losing puppy hair at this age? His coat is getting nice and long, and doesn't matt much (but a little more often lately.) When i work the matt out, I usually have a little fluff no matter how gentle I work on it. Is this normal? Thanks in advance

| Gracie still had half her puppy coat at 13 months. I had her clipped short. Got rid of all of the matting. Now I am letting her beautiful silver adult coat grow out.

| Yorkies will continue to have some hair loss at every age just like we do. The puppy coat grows out on the end of the coat and is often worn away. It's a gradual transition and takes quite a bit of time, sometimes up to two years.

| Thanks for all the good answers. I guess I should get his coat cut; but I love the way it looks now that it is growing.
