:D P.S. I don't use this stuff on MY dried out old utters but when I get a cut or my hands are very dried out. Also will put it on my feet with socks, messy yes but it does the trick and it is fairly cheap and will last forever. I miss everyone also but life has been so busy and the gang has taken up a lot of my time - little devils..:p |

V - I just posted in another thread to be sure to check the blade temp when trimming. I didn't know that the blade could get so hot. Petsmart sells a product in a spray can located near the trimmers that you can spray on the blade periodically to keep it from getting hot. It really works and my babies no longer get burnt. Next time you trim, you might want to touch the blade with your finger to check the temp. You'd be surprised. I was soooo glad that a groomer told me. |
awww poor little baby, i hope she feels better soon... v- its ok it was an accident... give her lots of treats today and hugs and kisses |
Oh poor little doll. I overtrimmed Cali's ear the other day and it started to bleed and the skin was bumpy. I felt so bad. |
There are two ways to get clipper burn, one is to have hot clippers. Be sure to check the temp of the clipper on your arm or with your finger to make sure the blades have not heated up. There are cooling sprays you can buy to keep this in check. 2nd and most important clipper burn can be caused by the angle you set the blade to the skin. The clipper should be parallel to the skin, if you tip the clipper to much you will be placing the teeth against the skin and it can dig in a bit and cause clipper burn. The clippers should never touch the anal area, just set them gently down on either side of the anus. And then some dogs skin is just very sensitive and maybe a longer blade length is best. But remember, a longer blade has more open teeth and can cut skin easier. If you find yourself hurting your dog to often maybe it is best left to a professional. |
i did that to kayko once alittle diaper rash cream and its all better the next day now when im buzzing them i touch the buzzer a few times to make sure its not getting hott |
