Teary Eyes... My Sasha has the most watery eyes I have ever seen (is this common in Yorkies) and because of that I spend alot of time fighting with her so that she doesn't get her hair all hard around her eyes...does anyone else have this problem...i tried to moisten with vaseline/water even a toothbrush but it never works because she darts from me the second I touch her face |
i have the same problem, Apollo wont let me wash it from his face, he wont stay still |
I dont know what to do I dont want her walking around with crusties looking like I dont love her...my girlfriend told m to use a toothbrush but Sashe would naw the bristles off before she lets me touch her,...when I first took her to the vet the lady told me to damp it and use a fine tooth flea comb, but that looked painful |
skoshi doesnt have crusties just gunk. seriously his eyes tear so much that he never drys and i tried the contact solution advice and that doesnt work. im pretty sure its his diet so im gonna wait for my FROMM food sample to come in and then im going to get some missing link. |

im sure they arent. but there is some stuff a lot of yters do go to search and look up tearing. |
thanx |
with regard to watery eyes of your yorkie if you use a small amount of bicarbonate of soda in water and wipe the eye lids with a cotton bud from the inside to the outside and do this on a regaular basis you should find the problem will go away. |
i would use a cotton ball as well to try and remove. my husband just picks it off. |
Max does too, not terribly, but I just wet a washcloth with plain warm water, and clean that area every morning. He's not crazy about it, but I think he's getting used to it. |
I soften Joey's with a wet warm cottonball and then finish with a fine tooth flea comb. Works really well. |
the vet's asst. uses the flea comb it looks painful |

My vet told me that giving them distilled water helps with runny or tearing eyes. I've been giving it to Jake for awhile now, and his eyes rarely tear anymore. I have to keep it in the fridge for him....he likes it very cold. |
You could try feeding your dog Canidae dog food. It really helps with the watery eyes. I dont know why it works but it does |
