| ![]() The hair around Gracie's mouth keeps getting caught in her mouth. She is smacking and licking constantly. I have to keep pulling it out of the corners of her mouth. Her hair is quite long, I worry she might actually choke on it if it gets too much longer. Do any of you have this problem with your long coat Yorkies and if so, what do you do? Do you trim the beard around the corners of the mouth? Thanks.

| ![]() Good question! I would be interested to know the answer to that. I only have one that the hair seems to bother him like that and have considered cutting it.

| ![]() If its in their mouth and it is always bothering them then you only have two choices to band it back or cut it off. If this is just a pet then I suggest you cut the hair so it no longer has to struggle with it. |

| ![]() I cut Buddy around the mouth. It bothers me as well as him to get the hair into his mouth all the time. After tomorrow everything is getting cut! |

| ![]() Thanks. Those were my thoughts, band it back or cut it. I don't really like either option. I just don't want a piece of hair sticking straight out once it gets so long. I was just curious if this became less of a problem once the hair got past a certain length. Gracie sees the groomer on Monday. I'm really tempted to get a puppy cut for the summer, her hair is so long and when she rolls in the grass, well, it's not pretty!
