How much to groom in your city? I'm in Southern Indiana, the groomer charges $40 - how much do you have to pay? |
I am in Indianapolis and pay $35 |
i pay 35 per dog then I tip on top of that. so yeah, its not cheap!! |
I'm in Albany, NY and pay $50 each then I always tip her about $20-25 b/c she is so great with the monkeys and the groomer is right in the daycare I take them too. She also will trim Hallie's eyes in between groomings and give her special brushings and attention so I don't mind. I trust her and I think that's what counts~ |
I pay $30 for my pug and when we got Autumn my groomer decided to keep the price the same for her (she said I had gotten her a lot of customers and she did not want to raise me):animal-pa |
I just paid 30 (plus a tip) and that was to have Lacey hand scissored rather than have them use the clippers. |
I pay $120 for Misha & Piper every 6 weeks. WOW! I wish they were cheaper down here. $35 sounds good to me. |
sorry for the repeat again |
Don't need to repeat what I just said. |
I groom them myself. I also groom my in-laws Mini Schnauzer, our friends toy poodle, and our Preacher's poodle mix. I charge them $20, and usually pick them up and take them back (they all live very close to me). I don't do it to make money, I enjoy doing it and am still in the learning stage-I am teaching myself! I won't accept a tip either. When we got our first poodle, I took her to Petsmart several times, they charged like $40, but I had to drive an hour each way and then wait around for 3-4 hrs. Plus, I always had to touch up spots that they missed, so I got fed up and bought the equipment to do it myself. I found a hobby that I never would have known I enjoyed. Missy |

around $25 + tax... |
Taking my little one this Saturday to a NDGAA Certified groomer in Tampa. For $45, she gets: Your dog professionally bathed and catered to his/her needs with special shampoo i.e.:medicated, flea, tick, oatmeal,Etc. Release anal glands Complete dry and brush out. Toe nails trimmed, ears cleaned and pulled if your breed requires such. Pads and privates tidied up. Bow /bandana and cologne if wanted. Always free of charge. Face, feet and tail tidied up Skirt line trimmed Hair taken off the entire body. This would be any breed specified pattern all the way to a basic shave down. I had another quote and it was $35. I'm spending the extra $10 for the certification I guess :) |
I live in Grand Prairie, Texas and paid $20 last week to have Chewie groomed. The lady did an excellent job and never charges over $25 or any type of dog. |
I pay $36.00 for one and then I give her a tip. She's really good with my dogs and I'm happy with the way their cut and groomed. :) Her grooming salon is right next to my work and that to me is a big help. I straddle the months I take each of them so I don't end up paying a lot at one time. ;) |
I'm in Chillicothe,Ohio and I pay $25 each to get them bathed and groomed the way I want.Plus she has yorkies so that helps. |

At petsmart I had paid from 35-40. But I was never really satisfied with what they did, so I started doing it myself last month... Now I only have to pay to get his nails trimmed... because I'm too scared to do that myself. |
After reading everyone's respone--I can see, I pay the 2nd highest to have my dogs groomed. I pay $54.00 per dog (1 Shih Tzu, 1 Yorkie). I DO NOT tip them--sorry at those prices, they are not getting another cent from me!! The good thing is, my Shih Tzu (Jazzy Girl) requires grooming every 4-6 weeks; whereas my Yorkie (Miss Mickey) only goes every 3-4 months. I am seriously thinking about learning how to groom them myself. I already groom one of my cats, but that is mostly thinning out the body hair to avoid matting. |
WOW! I guess I'm lucky here. I pay $15 to have Riley bathed, nails, face & bottom trimmed. I get the very 1st appt. & pick her up in about 90 minutes. |
Mine also charge $40.00 I too bought the equipment and started doing it myself at first my kids would say what you'd do you made them ugly........I said Hey Parctice makes perfect now they can't believe I do it myself I even do my Dad's Maltese... I am not that good though but I am still getting better and I love doing it............ |
I'm in cleburne, texas (dfw area) and my old groomer charged $16 for allie. I wasn't very fond of him so I switched she charges $25 |

I LOVE my groomer and so does Bella! She gets so excited going to see her... we call the lady Aunt Sandy and she charges 25 a visit, she gives Bella a gift each time; last time it was powder for her ears, this time it was a pretty pink boa. I think she is the bestest! |
I just got Frankie groomed today. a summer cut and it cost me $16.00. Most of the other groomers here charge 28-35 dollars. this was a young mom trying to start a business and did a great job. |

My groomer charges $19.00 to wash, do a "sanitary" trim, trim nails, shape up coat, and empty anal glands. When I had them both cut back for the summer, it was $25.00 each and I also tip. |
I live in Pembroke Pines Florida, though I've been grooming my dogs for the past year I have paid up to $40.00 each. My daughter takes her two in and they still charge the same $40.00. Liza |
