| Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali has a cottony coat which easily mats. I just took her to a groomer who use to show Yorkies and asked her to keep Cali's coat long but to do something to make it easier and more manageable. She cut some hair on her underside and on her rear and she cut her hair by the eyes and it is much better. MAybe you could find someone in your area that could help you.

| My Penny has a cotton coat too. I was at my wits ends with it..UNTIL I found a good groomer and she told me all that gray undercoat had to go. It was all dead puppy hair and thats what was getting matted! So she used a stripping knife and stripped all the gray undercoat and WOW when I picked Penny up she looked like a different dog. She went from a cotton ball to a nice sleek yorkie. Maybe you could find a groomer that knows how to strip the undercoat. Heres pics. She did cut some of Pennys length cuz I wanted it shorter for summer. |

| BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | how old is she?? did you try the CC silk spirits? It's a leave in silking. I love it so much! if she is still a puppy, it will take a while for her hair to lose it's puffiness. That's her baby hair. Also, try not combing her when her hair is dry, you need to spray water or a leave in condioner on it when combing. QUOTE=kalina82;1034127]morgan is one giant poof ball. nothing i use makes her hair silkier. She is a cotton coat, her hair is really thick, and its hard to brush sometimes. i just tried brushing her with a cc gold pin brush that i got and she HATES it. i've tried CM, CC day to day, and biogroom. i have a shampoo and conditioner collection going here. the biogroom is nice because it doesn't leave her hair greasy. i just wish something good would work on this hair. i'm tired of spending money on shampoo to use it once or twice and not use it again. help please she looks sad in the pics because i was just brushing her which she did not enjoy. she's due for a bath too so dont mind the tear stains[/QUOTE] |

| Jazzy is a cottony girl too. I use Pantene conditioner too - the Deep Conditioner type. I leave it on for about 5 minutes. While the conditioner is on her, I get a super wide tooth comb and comb the conditioner through then rinse and rinse and rinse and rinse her. She doesn't get greasy as long as I make sure I rinse her really good. I keep her chest & armpits cut short along with the inside of the back legs. As I blow dry her I use the Pantene Leave-In Conditioner or Cowboy Magic - I prefer the Pantene. Pictures #1 & #2 shows how cottony her coat is (this is the shortest I've had her cut - ever!). And #3 shows how much hair she has! #4 is to show how smooth and shiny she is.

morgan will be a year on april 15 so this isn't her puppy coat. I have tried the CC day to day shampoo. i got that sample pack with the shampoo, ice on ice, and some other stuff in it. i like the ice because it doesn't make her hairy greasy when i use it after her bath.

| Looks like if you want it to grow long your going to have to find a really good leave in conditioner. Some conditioners, like the #1 ALL SYSTEMS can be diluted down and then put in a spray bottle to mist and leave on. It's a lot less expensive than the conditioners that are alread diluted down. If you don't want to have to spend a lot of time on her coat then I'd suggest having the back sides, neck and belly all cut with a #3 blade. That's how I cut my Azrael. I leave the rest including the chest hair. Also try a hot oil treatment (like VO5) after each shampoo. Give a cod liver oil gel cap each day too. |

I thought you already had CM? I just use the detangler and rub it in while her hair is wet, comb it through and dry her. No need to buy something else. I've been thinking about putting the CM detanger in a spray bottle with water to dilute it. Has anyone tried this?

| Yes I would trim that hair. Jewels gets matted there too. If that is the only place she really matts that is very good for a cotton coat. That is manageable. Maybe she has more of a modified silk coat because cotton coats usually matt up all over

| Yes I really have to keep up on her hair to keep her from Matting. I deep condition and brush her and that keeps her hair silkier but if i miss her weekly bath and deep condition she will matt
