My little one is named Joey too! I named him that because it reminds me of a little spunky boy who thinks he's tough, and my Joey fits that image perfectly! I think the CC wooden pin brush is great. Perfect for tangles. The pins are softer than steal, so it can also be used on the mustache area. Here's a picture: Chris Christensen Wood Pin Brushes 20mm - Cherrybrook. They have a large one too, but I prefer the smaller one. After I get the tangles out, I use a comb.

Hi there,
That is kind of neat. :cool: We both named our baby Joey. :D Huh! I was going to use that name-Joey's Mom- for my user name till they said it was not available. My Joey sure could use a playmate. :( He needs someone to rough and tumble with. I do my best and my husband plays sometimes too.
Anyway, thanks for your kind answer about the brush. Never knew there were brushes with wooden pins. I will think on it as I always do things. He is so little and the brushes I've seen all seemed too big to use on him. I really need a smaller size comb for his face. He is 3.5 lbs and so tiny. Well, once again thank you for your reply to my inquiry. Sherri & Little Joey

I didn't have a yorkie when I joined Yorkietalk, I just used my photobucket name, because I didn't think I'd stay around long, ha, was I surprised. Yeah, Joey's mom is much nicer, but Silver Lace is pretty name too. Joey loves to play chase me mom and also tug of war, he has so much more energy than I do, but I try to give him a run for his money. Wow 3.5 is so tiny, one time I bought a dolls brush that worked pretty good.

I guess you were planning on getting a Yorkie as you did not have one when you joined. I just found this by accident when looking up about Yorkie ears trimmed. And I was only going to read and not register. I love the look of Yorkie's. Have for a long time. The name Silver Lace was my toy poodle's name. I lost her in November. She was 16years old. I love poodles too. She had been having so many problems for a year. Her worst one was congenital heart disease and that is why I lost her. I got Joey because I knew if I lost her I could not handle it unless I had another baby to love. Well, I had him for over a year before I finally lost her. And he has been such a comfort even tho at times it gets so hard on me that she is really gone. He also likes tug of war and he loves to go out and run in the small yard we have. I love to watch him with his long fast strides and he barks his happiness out in the wind. He loves to walk but we only go once a week. I chase him . I say,I'm going to get cha and he grabs a toy and runs. Doesn't really chase me though. He is a dear. Thanks for writing me again Joey's Momma.

Wow, 16 years, that’s wonderful, you must be a fabulous dog mom! I know what you mean about losing one, they are so much a part of your day and in your mind with everything that you do. I’m glad little Joey could offer you comfort and hope you have him around just as long as you had Silver Lace.

When Maximo was that size, I combed his entire body with a flea comb: Walmart.com: Safari Pet Products Cat Flea Comb with Extended Handle: Cats

I still have the comb and use it for the corners of my doggies' eyes.

I got that for Joey's mustache, I can't tell you how much he hates it. I kept buying plastic combs that he would bite, and this is metal, so he can't hurt it. It really does pull out every little crumb, but I think that's why he hates it.

My guys hate it too. I always tell them they have potatoes growing in their beards that need to come out, lol.

I do have to be careful to avoid catching whiskers. The comb has ripped a couple out of Teddy and made him yelp.

Thanks for telling me about that little comb. I could never use it all over Joey I don't think like you did with your pup. But it sounds like it would be what I need for his face. I have a moustache comb I use sometimes but it is too small. lol
