Anyone know where I can get less expensive Chris Christensen brushes? I would like to get one but they are so expensive. Anyone know of place where they are a little less expensive than on his website? If not, are there any alternatives that are just, or almost, as good but a lower price? |
Little Bit They are a little bit cheaper at www.retail4wholesale.com but I haven't ordered one yet. I hope someone else know of a better place. Good luck:aimeeyork :aimeeyork Donna |
Aw gee! Correction: I hope someone else knows of a better place. Sorry for the typo. Donna:aimeeyork  |

PLEASE don't shop here ! Doortego - you're trying to help and that's nice .... but there's been some people ripped off by these people - they charge your credit card and don't ship the products - then they ignore emails.....I only know this because it happened to some people who posted about it - I think they finally got a refund but never received what they ordered. BubblPopElectrc...Have you tried Ebay? - or right here...maybe someone will sell you one ? CC has the Gold Series which is a bit expensive but they also sell lesser priced brushes. It's not a law that we need to use these brushes - I'm sure there are good alternatives - maybe try Sally's Beauty Supply ? |
Oops! Sorry if I put my foot in it. Donna:confused:  |
I bought one from here. It seemed to be a few dollars cheaper than other places.. hopefully I will get it soon. :D http://www.dogshowjournal.com/DOGGIESECRETS/brush.htm |

Fusion Brush Hi, I emailed Lisa @ Chrissystems for a brush recommendation and she recommended the new brass fusion brush so I ordered that one. I'll let you know if I like it but since I don't have one of the gold series brushes to compare it to, I'm not sure how much help I will be. Donna:aimeeyork |
Wow!! I ordered the Christensen fusion brush yesterday afternoon and I received it this morning! You can't beat that service & I LOVE the brush & so does Little Bit. Lisa was also very helpful and friendly with her recommendations & responses. I was, of course, full of questions. Donna |
Brush Hi, I keep reading how so many people use brushes for their Yorkshire. I was told by one groomer all I needed was the steel comb I use now on my yorkie. Is it that necessary to use a brush too and what is the purpose for using it besides combing his hair? Is there a special kind of brush to use other than a pin brush? I would appreciate some help on this. Silver Lace |

When I am lazy or my boys are a complete mess, I use my ISINIS brush. It is a good quick detangler that doesn't damage. I never use the pin brush if my boys are dirty. |
I use both a pin brush and comb on my 2. I brush softly at first and if I come across a tangle, I will use the comb to comb it out. |
Hi, Thanks so very much for the responses. I was wondering how I would receive the answers. I was just re-reading the section and then I saw there were answers below my question. If it is not necessary as both you and the groomer said I just will not bother with a brush. Just thought if it would be best for my baby I would do it. Joey and Sherri :aimeeyork :) |
Mom to Hot Rod Thank you so very much for your answer to help me out. I have used a comb on Joey all his life with me and I kept hearing about using a brush but did not like the look of them so I kept using his comb. It is nice to have someone to ask and get an answer from. I see there is another little Joey out there. That is my little one's name. This site has been good to view and get so much information from. Bye now. Sherri:) |
Maximo and Teddy Hi, I just want to thank you for welcoming me to Yorkie Talk and for your helpful information on the brush question. I will just continue on with using the comb only. Would be nice to find one smaller for his face though. He is 3.5 lbs. I was wondering how I was going to find my answer. I just re-read the site again to see more information about the brush and then I saw answers underneath my question and was so tickled. :D This has been such a nice place to be on. My little one is also Joey. :aimeeyork I saw there was another one on here. Bye for now. Sherri :) |

Joey's Mom Hi there, That is kind of neat. We both named our baby Joey. :D Huh! I was going to use that name-Joey's Mom- for my user name till they said it was not available. My Joey sure could use a playmate. :( He needs someone to rough and tumble with. I do my best and my husband plays sometimes too. Anyway, thanks for your kind answer about the brush. Never knew there were brushes with wooden pins. I will think on it as I always do things. He is so little and the brushes I've seen all seemed too big to use on him. I really need a smaller size comb for his face. He is 3.5 lbs and so tiny. Well, once again thank you for your reply to my inquiry. Sherri & Little Joey |

I guess you were planning on getting a Yorkie as you did not have one when you joined. I just found this by accident when looking up about Yorkie ears trimmed. And I was only going to read and not register. I love the look of Yorkie's. Have for a long time. The name Silver Lace was my toy poodle's name. I lost her in November. She was 16years old. I love poodles too. She had been having so many problems for a year. Her worst one was congenital heart disease and that is why I lost her. I got Joey because I knew if I lost her I could not handle it unless I had another baby to love. Well, I had him for over a year before I finally lost her. And he has been such a comfort even tho at times it gets so hard on me that she is really gone. He also likes tug of war and he loves to go out and run in the small yard we have. I love to watch him with his long fast strides and he barks his happiness out in the wind. He loves to walk but we only go once a week. I chase him . I say,I'm going to get cha and he grabs a toy and runs. Doesn't really chase me though. He is a dear. Thanks for writing me again Joey's Momma. |

I still have the comb and use it for the corners of my doggies' eyes. |

I do have to be careful to avoid catching whiskers. The comb has ripped a couple out of Teddy and made him yelp. |
Maximo Thanks for telling me about that little comb. I could never use it all over Joey I don't think like you did with your pup. But it sounds like it would be what I need for his face. I have a moustache comb I use sometimes but it is too small. lol |
