I have a really hard time keeping a band in Mandi's hair. I will get it in (definitely not easy though) and then the next time I look she has rubbed and shook it out. I have found that the rubber bands stay better than the new latex bands. The latex bands seem to come out right away. I have tried to distract her with something when she is messing with it but I can't watch her 24/7. As soon as I turn my back she has it out!! uuugghhh!! If she only knew how cute she looked with it in. |
Top Knot Issues Last week we took Gizmo to PetSmart to get groomed and he left looking very adorable. The groomer tied his hair into a top knot with a little rubberband. We thought it was great because we haven't seen his pretty eyes for quite a while. We decided that from now on we are going to keep his hair this way or atleast until the in between stage grows out. After two days we started to notice that the area around the top knot looked a little abnormal. We took out the rubberband and sadly to say there were mats all over his head. It was so frustrating knowing that there was a possibility he may need to get them shaved off. Just imagine having a bald headed yorkie. That is not a good thing. We picked apart, soaked with conditioning spray, and brushed for about 10 minutes and finally it came loose. :xfingers: Luckily the mats didn't get to the point of no return. Has anyone ever experience anything like this before? What did we do wrong? Are we supposed to leave it on only for one day? Are we supposed to treat the top knot with some type of special conditioning spray? Please advise. :animal-pa |
Bangs/Fringe Hi I am first chuckling to myself to finally see so many people say BANGS!!!! I am American but moved to the UK in 2002 and here it's known as FRINGE! So everytime I would say BANGS I would get silly looks and people laughing and making fun of me....so yes I am so happy to see the word used again...LOL , anyways LiL Moe has eye gunk problems, the vet says his tear ducts don't drain properly so he will always have this problem....so to cut down on the amount of things irritating his eyes I keep his "Bangs" trimmed short, and he seems to like it that way....I tried to grow it out at the start and such, but it just caused him too much grief, so I gave in and said he could be a rough and tumble boy instead of a Show dog looking boy....he is a pet anyways so I will just have to wait on getting my female someday and she can be the pretty one...LOL, Moe is so easily dirty and messy that now that the weathers nicer I have him shaved short on his body and legs and butt , long hair on his tail and his chest shoulders and face are medium , he looks like a lion.....but its quite cute and does suit him and his personality. |
I have both Tiffy and Teddy with Bangs...I'm not one with it being in their eyes...I can't take it...I love then with bangs, they looks so cute I think...More so with Bows in their hair. Hugs, Lee |
7 week old Sammi I brought Sammi home from the breeders yesterday and I have had a rollicking 24 hours!!!Sammi's ears are taped right now and her hair is very short but I want to be able to comb the hair back and up to hold a small bow on top of her head when the hair is long enough to do so.What do I do in the meanwhile to keep the hair from getting in her eyes as it grows long enough ?By the way,Sammi turned 7 weeks old yesterday:wink: She weighs a whole 1 lb. 6 oz and is a doll baby. She slept in her new stroller last night because I was afraid she might get hurt anywhere else.I put a shirt in on her blanket and then rolled the stroller over beside me,unzipped just enough of the protective mesh screen to get my hand in and we all went to sleep ( off and on ) I didn't know puppies that small could make such a howling noise when they are hungry, lonesome or just plain bored!!:p Thanks for any suggestions :thumbs up |
