I bathe Simon and Hallie every other Sunday. More in the summer when we are outside a lot more. Hallie has super dry skin so in between washing I spray her daily with a conditioning spray and Simon just has easy hair and never really looks dirty. |
My little girl is a once a week girl! Her hair got tangled more and greasy and matted, despite daily brushes. I say 'got' because she was groomed at the weekend and I will be watching with interest as to how it looks later in the week! |
we have been bathing about 2x @ month. he gets smelly and pee pee on his undercarriage. |
Bathing Well so much for Lex's bath on sunday...he is stinky already from being outside and he seems to like to sit on his dang piddle pad in the morning when I am coming down to walk his behind. :D |
I bathe Bella every Friday. Otherwise she looks dirty and unkempt--even though I brush her everyday. I want her to look clean and I think she likes it too :) |
I bathe Rhapsody every Thursday, right before her training class. Tiger has such a perfect coat I haven't had to bathe him yet. . . Actually I'm about to start so he'll get used to it. But he's sooo silky, not oily at all, and his hair doesn't tangle. I do brush them both every morning whether they need it or not. I want them to be comfortable with the brush. Rhapsody is beginning to get her adult coat, so she needs to be brushed because her coat is at an awkward stage. :animal37 |
I bathe Oscar about once a week also. He goes outside to potty and I swear, on warm days he comes back in smelling like a sweaty little boy...now I know dogs are not supposed to sweat, but he has that smell. And his feet get a smell like posted above...they really smell like Fritos! It is the funniest thing...against his better judgement, my hubby smelled his feet and agreed...Fritos!!! When it is wet or muddy outside, he gets his feet washed under running water when he comes indoors...that hair is like velcro and picks up all sorts of yard trash. |
With eight to bath which takes most of the day, we go every other week some of the time. During the cold winter months, sometimes longer between bathing because they always want to go out after and it's just too cold for them even after they have dried off. During the summer, usually once a week. And I also throw them in the pool when it's really hot. They don't like that but they do like cooling off when they get out. I have a couple that shiver so much after a bath even during the summer months, that I'm cautious as to how often they get a bath. |
I bathe Chachi and Jewels every two weeks during non summer months and every week during the summer months since they get dirty faster |
I tried to bath Ginger less, but once a week it is! BTW, I used to have schnauzers and they could go FOREVER without a bath, and my beagle/sheltie mix is the same way...he gets a bath about 6 times a year, but his coat always looks beautiful. Some breeds just need bathing more! |
I bathe my yorkie and my maltese once a week also. My cockers get one about every other week. When I had my mini schnauzers they got a bath once a week also. It really just depends on you and how you like to keep your dogs looking. I have a policy that no dirty dogs are allowed in the house. Therefore sometimes mine get bathed more than once a week. If I go to my sisters house I take my dogs with me. Unfortunatly my yorkie loves to roll in horse manure so she gets a bathe when we get home. Alot of the time I go to my sister's house 2-3 times a week. :aimeeyork |
now i see... OK, now that I've had Tinka for a little while, I understand why they need baths more often! I understand now about how the coat looks after a week  omega |
my 11 week needs a bath please help Ok so this Friday my yorkie will be 11 weeks old, when i first got him the pet shop told me not to bathe him till three weeks from when i got him 5/13/06 purchase date. I should be able to bathe him this weekend, but when i went to the vet he said i should wait till he has all his shots can someone give me their opinion? If so what product does everyone mostly agree on is the best for my yorkie please help i love when people give me their opinion. Thanks :aimeeyork |
Why did your vet say to wait? I'm just curious since my pups get baths all the time. |
Bathing my baby :aimeeyork Not sure why but i have to go to drop something off at the Vet this friday and i am going to ask him again. Just to make sure i think he's old enough that he wont get sick if i give him a bath i just need to get a blow dryer because the one i have only throws out cold air and i dont want to get him sick like that. Has anyone tried using johnson & johnson no tear shampoo for their pups i have panteene and i noticed a few people said they used panteene and it works just as fine. :aimeeyork |
