I love topknots also. Toto has a great topknot. Uni's is more clipped back bc she doesn't have much hair. I don't think topknots are only a girls thing. I think it's a yorkie thing. Personally I don't know why people get yorkies and completely shave them down. Yorkies are known for their hair!

I agree with you re: topknots are not just a girl thing. Teddy is adorable in a topknot. I just like to give him a break, sometimes, though. Also, I hate 'fixing' up his hair everyday before I do mine!!! I guess I need the break, too! haha

So glad you all have been enjoying this thread. I haven't been on in a week and so happy you kept this going. Have a few nice pics on here to follow so this coming week is "The Week" I do the cut. I'll send you my progress. I know the cut will morph with skirt, long tail, braid and beard. Deuce doesn't have a big package to hide so I think I can go pretty short on the body.

Max strained his giraffe neck this week, so when we returned home from the vet, I chopped his beard and topknot. I cut quickly, so this was the rough look:

I have since cleaned it up, evened it out. We'll take more photos later. Reminds me of when he was a silly puppy:

I did it. Day 1. Did the Joey Cut. I still need to fix his head and a bit on the upper legs but it came out great!!! He had to play ball then ate dinner and was exhausted. Tomorrow is the touch up and bath. I love it!

BTW I used a #7 Blade on the Andis for his body. This is the first time I've used it and I like it.

It's amazing to me how much Deuce and Max look alike although Deuce is only 6 lbs. Hubby saw the pic today and remarked. I think we established that they both have Durrier in their lines.

Way to go for doing your own cut and surviving to tell the tale..lol! It looks great!!

Teddy is due for another groom...are you free to pop by England later in June! :)

It has been in the 90's here and its not even summer yet :confused::thumbdown!!!! I want to cut Cooper's hair short because he loves to go outside and his hair is long now! But I am so scared to cut his hair :(:(:(

Deuce is adorable sporting the Joey Cut! Great job. I can see he is enjoying it too. You are tempting me to really cut. :D

Yes, those Durrer lines! I have to take more photos of Max because his beard is even shorter now. I love it.

Wish I could!! I'm trying to get a few more pics on here but Deuce is avoiding me when I have the camera. Only wants me to snuggle. Tough life right?

I can't tell you what it took just to shave it. I just did it. He's so cute but I love, love , love the long hair yorkie look. My heart aches when I see pics on here.

So today when I combed him and found yet another tick. I'm glad I cut it!

Okay his puppy hair was getting way out of control, so off it went lol!!!
