| Nancy1999: Modified Schnauzer cut AKA "The Joey" Nancy and anyone else who did this cut: Toto is always a stinky mess. I have to give him rinses after every walk, so that's at least twice a day and still he smells. Yes I have the pee string. His hair is so pretty and silky but I'm getting sick of dealing with his pee stink. So I want to cut off his saddle hair and leave his face and legs. How do fade from his back to his legs. I don't want it to look like I started shaving him then stopped. So you still leave a pee string? How long?

You can use the same blade just curve the angle of the blade outward in a nice smooth motion. I use a #5 for the back and a #7 for the fade. I go down the back legs about 2" than start the fade. It takes some practice but is very easy to do. I keep the pee hair about an inch.

| Yes Toto is neutered. But I don't know how old he was when he got it done since he's a rescue. Well yesterday bf decided to shave him. He cut off a bit too much on his legs I though, but his back was all choppy still. He tried to shave a "Power Paw" too so that's why the paws looks kinda messed up. So today I fixed him up but had to go down to a 2 so it was all even. He looks like he's wearing those leg warmer things that girls wear to raves LOL. The tail and most importantly his head is still long. I was really surprised at how many mats he had really close to the skin. IMAG2048.jpg IMAG2051.jpg Crappy cell phone pics. It's pretty short but his hair grows so fast so I'm not worried. He looks SO small now. Overall I like it. So much easier to clean him off after a pee break. I also trimmed the pee string down to one inch.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Pretty darn good for a first attempt. I think the legs look really cute. Ralphie's legs were one length like Joey's, but I cute them the other day into layers, and it doesn't look very good. He tangles so easily and the hair is so thick, I couldn't stand it anymore, maybe his groomer can fix it. Toto looks really fit!

| We keep saying how skinny he is. We try to feed him more but he just ends up pooping more. He's obviously healthy bc he's energetic and not lethargic. But I don't want to feed him crap to get him to gain weight, so that's how he looks under all the hair. Uni is the one that's getting fat. LOL

| I love the booty shot!! Yeeessss! Toto obviously approves of his new style. Although I will mourn his beautiful long coat, I like this style on him. Don't worry about him being tiny. Teddy is surprisingly small under all of his hair. Has a cute little behind like Toto.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I think people as well as dogs are healthier if they are a little underweight, instead of any overweight.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Nice job on the cut , You''ll get the hang of it. Have you considered shortening his head and tail hair so that is would blend in better?

I feel like I have a new dog! He is so soft I pet him at night. He's like velvet. I remember Nancy said something like Joey is wearing a velvet bellbottomed jumpsuit. Love it!
