Hi and thank you for responding, I wish i was looking for a handler!(that would mean he has grown his coat!) I am also from Etobicoke, but moved north long ago. The products are a problem to find and expensive! As if 'that' product doesn't work for your pup! must try another! I am nearing giving up! Lol I have purchased plush puppy products, but not really seeing any miracles, but hopefully a bit more time! i will reread this info when his coat has grown a few inches! much appreciated! |

I am not sure how close you might be to dog shows where you live, but I have usually purchased my products at the dog shows. Don't despair about the slow growing coat, that often indicates a true silk coat. Razzle did not come into his full coat until almost 2yrs old. As a puppy I clippered his ears with a moustache trimmer about once per month; how-ever I was lucky in that my breeder show groomed him. So she did that crisp scissoring along the edges of the ears. I think it is so great that you want to show way up in Alaska or maybe the old Northwest Territories. If there are any questions you have - I am here willing to help out as I can. Just remember coat health is a function of good nutrition, good genetics, and proper care of the coat. Keep in touch! |
Hi, very interesting about Razzle being almost 2 prior to finishing his coat! That is encouraging, and yet if the same for my little guy then i'm a way off in time looking for a handler! I did purchase my products at a show, but there was no choice, only one vender with one product. I would have liked to try Vellus cream, but maybe the next show i am able to get to will offer it. I have read here on YT that some show breeders don't oil or wrap, what do they substitute with? It sounds appealing, but I don't know what they are doing instead to achieve growth. Thanks for your input and support. |

Please consider you need to get your boy used to the show ring, and trained for it, even if his coat has not grown in yet. You could show him as a puppy. And I highly encourage taking handling classes for him most especially and for you. |
Hello, yes I am able to get us both to class once a month, very repetitious but that is my view, my yorkie seems to quite enjoy it. He flaunts his stuff, shows off his moves and gets so much attention. I believe it is due to him being the only toy, ever there. Unfortunately there is no one there, thus far that have a long coat and issues such as a yorkie. He is from good stock, both parents are champions. He has been assessed for show, just coat length needed. He is on a great food and has had a supplement formulated specifically for him. Again I can't thank you enough for your support. |
