For my Miyoko and his eyes, I use warm water a babies toothbrush and a dry towel... Warm water to soften, the toothbrush to not only loosen but to remove using gentle back and forth strokes and when he is squirmy I hold his chin hairs and tell him still.... Works wonders |
I am going to have to try the flea comb and warm water. I have tear stain remover that I usually apply and then i use warm water and a cotton balls to remove the gunk. I always assumed the tear stains were because they had hair in their eyes. With my older male, I use the clippers and trim right underneath the eyes and that's helped some. He will sit still for me though. My little guy....there's no way I am putting clippers or scissors near there. He is too squirmy and he's constantly got hair in his eyes right now bc it's growing out. I was putting his hair in a pony tail and using hair clips to hold the short stuff back...but he will go rub his face on a pillow until he pulls all the short hairs out. I started french braiding his hair a few days ago because the pony tail holder left a red spot on top of his head. He doesn't like the braid either. I am going to pick up some distilled water today to see if it helps!! Has anyone tried any of the tear stain pills...wanna say angel eyes?!? |

I would avoid angel eyes since it has tylan/ antibiotic in it. Once you stop it, the eye staining/ red yeast comes back. |
I tried Angel's Eyes for an entire bottle, and it didn't seem to do any good. The distilled water with organic apple cider vinegar has helped, plus it also has kept the teeth tartar to a minimum; a WIN-WIN situation. BTW: has anyone ever been told that the long hair getting in their eyes can cause them to go blind? I don't believe that, but I've heard it said.............................................. |
