1 Attachment(s) After some stalking.....here is the Beautiful Zhoie!! I fell in love with this cut the first time i saw it! Ahhhh :) Here's the thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...like-wind.html |
Thats a cute cut and with all the different hair lengths and textures that you say Luma has going on it should be a good cut for her. If you walk in the the groomer with a photo and an idea in mind. You'll be very upset if you walk out with something totally unexpected! So give instructions on how long you expect the hair to be on her legs, ears, butt chest, face and head. Plus the eyes, and nose. Do you want the groomer to shave her inner eye hair and the rim of her nose? (most do) I've started doing it with my four and I like it. My sister always shave the arm pits to prevent the matting and you can always ask them to do that for you. Be sure the groomer knows what you want before you walk out the door .Cant wait to see the new LUMa !! |
2 Attachment(s) Here's our current situation...I just took the first pic to illustrate her current hair length. Second pic is from a few weeks ago. Wow, she looks sooo unkempt its embarssing! We shaved her down completely when she was around 5 months old and since then I havent touched her hair besides hacking her leg/foot hair ouy of frustration. I may work at a groomers but they don't let me near any scissors, for obvious reasons  So! With the pics provided do you think she would look okay with the shaved saddle, long legs look? Obviously it won't look as good as Zhoie bc her leg hair is thin and I have to grow out the hair on her feet. |
2 Attachment(s) Here is Peanut.. Once she is cut I think you will love it!! I love snuggin with Peanut right after a groom!! The groomer will leave his legs kings “hairy” he has such long legs if they are cut super short it looks off- so when she leaves them hairy it makes his cut look super cute! This was right after he had a dental so you can see where they shaved him for the IV. Of course they had to do both legs!! |
2 Attachment(s) I think she would. I myself prefer the same cut but with a saddle like I do Ruby. Its called a Modified Schnauzer Cut. You could even have the groomer cut the saddle shorter if you wanted. I added a pic of Ruby fresh after her first MSC. I keep her head and face longer since the first pic was taken. I think either cut would be a great look for Luma and Less upkeep for you. |

And for shaving at 5 months (about as long ago as Mandie was shaved), her hair has grown back fast. Mandie's is so slow to grow. |

I attribute the shine to the Halo Dreamcoat supplement I started putting on her food about 6 months ago when she was having horrible allergies. I swear by this stuff. It seriously changed her skin drastically!! |

1 Attachment(s) I LOVE this cut...The Joey Cut...it's like the Zhoie cut. Here's the thread & a pic. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...ut-shaved.html |
I am just loving the Joey/Zhoie :) Carmen, yes..where do you buy the halo dreamcoat? |
I bought it on chewy.com when I started buying Lumas food online. Although I think Rhonda was looking at the ingredients and saw something she didn't really like. I think it was the garlic oil. I haven't had any problems with it. Luma had dry, red skin and would bite her legs. Now she doesnt. It works for us and it makes her hair shiny. :) |
Mandie's hair baffles me. It breaks and gets really frizzy along her back/spine. The rest is perfect. But her body doesn't shine...not at all. Her face still has some bright silver around it and THAT shines - in pics, it really stands out. I'm still searching for that perfect shampoos and conditioner. I love the grooming spray I use but I keep trying other sprays to help those hairs on her back that break and frizz. Arg lol I am going to try this halo stuff :) |
