the colour transition is different 1 Attachment(s) Hi I have a 4 month old yorkie who is starting to change into adult colours I know the hair on his head will go grey then tan but the grey does not stop. When yoou part the black hair you can see that his whole body...nose to tail is all silver. No blue and a tiny bit of tan on his nose. Does this mean he will stay silver or go tan all over? |
I have never seen a yorkie that color. |
lol, me neither...but there he is ;) i witnessed the tie both parents are yorkies and i have his mother. perhaps i found a hidden gene? |
His coloring is different.....I have never seen one with no tan markings. |
I'm curious as to the answer, but I also wanted to say that no matter what color he ends up being....he is freakin' CUTE!!! |
lol when he makes eye contact he gives puss in boots a run for his money.... is it possible he is going to be steel blue all over? |
1 Attachment(s) It isn't the best photo but I tried to get a photo of the grey / silver on his back |
1) He is super cute! 2) He seems to missing some tan around his face, but remember, it can take up to three years for his coloring to become "permanent." My Jack changed and initially he did have a lot of "silver/grey" on his head but he turned out to be a beautiful tan/gold color - he's in my avatar and is my little Prince - we now have a sister for him, Izzy, she is a parti colored yorkie and is just a doll baby. Can't wait to see pictures of your little man as he continues to grow and changes. |
i'm getting him groomed on friday next week. i'm hoping with less puppy hair i'll see the blue on his back and not silver although i'm likeing the idea of him with long flowing silver hair ;) i know sometimes hoemones can change hair colour so i asked the vet and he said not to worry. i noticed there are some small bits of dark tan (mixed with blakc hair) on his feet and he has a ginger tail...right to the tip (un docked) |
sorry about spelling lol |
I think he is adorable and love the coloring! |

1 Attachment(s) Otis is now 9 months.....and still 90% silver |
He is still the cutest wee thing. |
it took 15 attempts and a lot of luck to get the photo and he is still the only yorkie i have seen in this colour....nowhere near breed standard though so no stud work etc ;) i think this his permanent colour but he is going to get his hair cut short soon as it tangles when he sneezes |
