Cutting off his beautiful locks... For four years, I've battles to keep Teddy's hair neatly at floor length. There's nothing more beautiful than a full coat of silk. But, it's a lot of work and he just doesn't seem as happy as the others. So I'm cutting Teddy down. Our appointment is next week. It's the right thing to do for him, and I know e will still be a cutie pie :) |
well you know him best!! i can only imagine the work it is to keep up! i struggle with mine being shorter nevermind floor length! good luck teddy we cant wait to see the new you!! |
I understand what you are going thru. I always wanted a yorkie and the main reason was because of their beautiful long locks. I have accepted that Mandie is just too much of a tomboy and hates grooming with a passion, so she's probably going to end up with a little less locks lol. *sigh* |

You will definitely not regret cutting his hair!! And, neither will he. It is so much easier and you will both be thrilled. He will certainly be just as beautiful. |
I'm sure he is going to look ADORABLE! Please be sure to post an after picture!!! :D |
Oh, I get so sad when a pup with gorgeous long hair gets it cut off. Uni's can never grow to the ground so we are a bit jealous over here. :( Make sure they save some for you to keep! |
Aw...Teddy will be gorgeous and he will love it too:thumbup: Zhoie has been growing out for winter but to tell the truth, it's a bush and I just can't take it anymore...she is getting zipped off this weekend:D |
I havent touched Luma's hair a single time since shaving her at 5 months old. She's almost 1 now and I swear the hair on her body doesn't seem to be growing at ALL!!! ARGH! It's driving me NUTS! I want it to be floor length, but she's in that inbetween stage...and I'm tempted to cut it all off. :( |
It takes me three times as long to care for Rosie as it does Mikki. So I do understand. Sometimes I think it would be so much easier. But I just can't bring myself to do it! Teddy will look just as handsome as ever! |

I've never cut the hair on Sophia's body (only the hair on her nose) and it's still really short. She'll never have a long coat, but that's okay, I still think she looks cute :D |

He is going to be cute, no matter what. (Gotta say, we understand the long haired battle here too. :)) On a different note, how is the sleep going? |
I think he will look adorable! I think long hair is gorgeous, but I am certainly partial to the puppy cut, or shorter 'dos. I just think most of the time they are so much happier. A lot less upkeep and brushing etc. |
I want to cut curri's har so badly!! But sadly, she has the pinkish Biewer skin with black spots..... So I would be a proud mamma to a miniature Cow  :D I DID trim her face ( okay HACK her face..) the other night. I'm in love with her new puppy cut beard :) |
Blazer's hair (soft "cotton" coat) seems to grow OUT instead of down. Silly boy gets so super fluffy and looks HUGE! I've decided to keep his body shorter (it helps for his outside play, anyway!) but I am trying to get his face a little longer. |

I just don't have the patience and desire to put in the effort for the floor length hair. Couver has a silky coat, but he's so much happier with short hair. Khloe's hair grows crazy fast, but mats. I keep her short because it's so much work to grow it out. I compromise and let their beard hair grow :) It's the best of both worlds! I'm sure Teddy will look adorable with short hair. You should post some before/after pictures :D |
Ic, thanks for the clarification :) Quote:

I keep Zhoie shaved with long face and legs. Well, I got the bright idea of letting her grow for winter....mistake! I couldn't take it, she was a bush, hair sticking out in all directions and she looked so huge...big wooly bear:D. It took forever to get her trimmed back down today...never again, hehe. Teddy will look great and I know you will both love the cut! Can't wait to see pictures. |

Tena I am like you , I can't stand for Jada to start getting wooly either..I keep her body shaved year round. She always looks so big when her hair starts getting bushy. I can honestly say, she acted like a totally different dog after I shaved her down. Playful and happier than she ever had been. Cathy I don't think you will regret your decision. Teddy will be gorgeous in whatever style you decide to do. |
Kinda chickened out.... 1 Attachment(s) I did cut a few inches but otherwise chickened out Attachment 378392 |
