| Wish us luck Roxxy is going to her first appointment with a new groomer. A lot of my friends in town use her and her brother Chewbaca just went and he looks good but I'm still nervous. This is crazy. I like the way she did Chewy and his mom said she was wonderful, patient, loving, and talented, all the right things yet I'm still nervous! My friends are all so happy with her but I still need you all to wish us well. We see her at 4pm today and I will post results. |

| Good luck with the groomer. I have some photos that I show my groomer so they know how I want Buster to look. I am sure Roxxy will look beautiful what a cutie.

| First, you guys are going to soon find out my posts are generally long, but especially in this case I want to give the full picture. I hope you all don't mind . Here goes; I am pleased enough with the way my little girl turned out. Since this is my first yorkie, I was very unsure of exactly how I wanted her but did have some thoughts in mind. The pics you all posted were very helpful. I wanted Roxxy to look like a Yorkie but knew I didn't want or need a very long coat. I was debating though, what is a satisfactory look for her. Other than how I wanted her face to look, I was unsure about the body. This is where I was going in to the groomer. She is wonderful. Her manner and demeanor is above reproach. I would fully recommend her to anyone in the area. I think they would be pleased as she clearly loves the animals, she is very, very gentle, she seems very knowlegable and was patient; she and I spoke almost a half hour about what I wanted for Roxxy. She made recommendations and though I was unsure, I felt that I could trust her. After showing her pics, I decided to let her cut the hair across the nose so that it would not keep getting in her eyes. I am pleased with this result. She left her skirt; just trimmed it a little but really took down her legs and I'm not quite sure how I feel about the look. It is new so it will take getting used to but it has totally neatened her look. She took down hair under the arms and legs and this is great as you all know this area gets tangled. She told me that Roxxy is actually a silky coat and I was thinking maybe cotton. She said that Roxxy's hair was not like puppy hair, more adult like, softer though honestly her hair seems a lot like her brother's who the groomer had also done earlier yesterday and she siad Roxxy had a better coat than him. I know her brothers coat is thinner and shorter and other than that I can't see much difference but she said there is so, lol. I'm no expert. Here's the bad part though. She said that Roxxy was sooooooo nervous. She said that she'd work with her a few more times to see if she calms down but if she doesn't she will be scared to work with her for fear of hurting her. She said she was sooo wiggly and I did see this change in her behavior the last time she went to the vet. I do know that Roxxy is a scary girl. She does not even like riding in the car which was an issue I also wanted to ask you about. Anyway, this groomer does mostly scissor work; she says she will not try clippers until the dogs get used to her "because they are babies and they get scared of the clippers". I thought this was sweet. Anyway, I am horrified that my girl is too nervous and the groomer thinks she may not do her. She said that she would still trim her face area for me but that she is scared to do her legs, etc which frankly I find weirdly opposite-like. She said Roxxy was very sweet, trying to kiss her etc. but she said she doesn't think it would be right to repeatedly traumatize her if she doesn't seem to warm to the experience after a few times. She actually told me that if Roxxy stays nervous that I should buy a book and that I could easily learn to do her myself and that I would even save money by doing so. She said that I could come in and she would show me what and how to do it (this I couldn't believe, that seems so nice). Anyway, what do you all think about all of this? Any and all input would be appreciated. I am going to post pics but have to say the pics aren't the best, Roxxy of course would not keep in her little clips and before we could even leave the shop her topknot was becoming undone. |

| She looks cute, I prefer longer leg hair but its all a matter of personal preference. I like a shorter body and longer legs the opposite of what you had done. Laci had that same hair cut for a while until someone posted the " JOEY" hair cut. I find it easier, less grooming , easy to wear clothes. Keeps them cool and I happen to think its a great hair cut Just try out a few different cuts till you find the one YOU LOVE.

| I just wanted to add, this is a very simple cut , she does not need to go to the groomers often. I take her every 3 months or so. I bought my own pair of clippers and after she is groomed I am able to keep it up for 3 months, I shave her body once a month at home and trim up her legs and personal area's. Laci is not a big fan of the groomer either and its easy for me to do at home , because if she needs/wants a break I can give it to her. Its very hot here in Florida and find this to be a great cut especially because she does not care for being groomed. For me once the " basic" cut is there its pretty easy to see where she needs to be shaved and trimming her leg hair and feet is also easy to follow.

| Jean, Oh your baby is adorable! Thanks for the comments. I really was unsure about the look I wanted for her body. I'm thinking that I may prefer her legs a bit longer but haven't decided yet. Where can I find the Joey? |

| Nancy1999 is on here, Joey has a beautiful coat. You would have to try to do a search for Joeys new Hair cut. Its from a year or so ago but Make a post if someone has a picture of the " Joey " cut. Its beautiful. Yes Id go with longer legs too. You pup appears to have a much nicer coat then Laci does so I think you would like the cut if you can find someone who has a picture

| Thanks so much, I LOVE the "Joey". I now of course am waiting for her legs to grow! Even if they weren't cut I think it would have taken awhile. I showed Hubby the Joey and he says he doesn't like it but guess what--you got it, Roxxy will be sporting the Joey 1st chance she gets. The more I look at her little chicken legs, the more I'm wishing they were left longer. |
