How long to bathe? How long does it take you to bathe your dogs? Mine take a complete hour from start to finish- per dog. That is to bathe, blow dry, brush, and do a few minor touch ups, no actual grooming. I am so tired by the time I finish with one, I only do one dog per day. Like last night I did Armani and then tonight I did Chloe. Just wondering if I am slow, or it takes everyone this long. :) |
I think I can do Kaji in 30 mins. 10 mins to bathe, and 20 or less to blow dry. He has a short coat, and the only longer hair is on his face. :) |
It takes me and about and hour and a half to do Jada and Bogie. Although now they have hardly any hair since I gave them the modified schnauzer cut. When they were in full coats it took over 3 hours. |
45 minutes for bath, blowdry, trim ears, potty areas & feet, cut & file nails, put in new bow :) ZoE is extremely cooperative...more so than any yorkie I've ever groomed before. |

Mine are both super cooperative on the bathing and blow drying front but not with the brushing. I think part of my problem is my blow dryer- I wish I had room for a pet specific one it would help A LOT! |

I can get Pixie and Nikki done in about 30 minutes each because they have silky coats. It takes an hour for Cali and Roxie sometimes a little longer with their cottony coats. Once in awhile I will do all 4 and t takes just over 3 hours but most times I do 2 and 2. |
I always set aside 1 hour to bath and groom George, sometimes its quicker sometimes longer, depends on what needs doing and how cooperative his is or maybe we just have more cuddles, I know I enjoy it more than him but we both like my new GHD hairdryer as it has a cool setting and so quiet, if I have to trim his nails its a longer process, he's not keen but probably picks up on my nervousness.:animal36 |
I take a few minutes before I even "tell" Princess & run her water, open bottles, get towels, get out scissors, tear stain remover, etc. I bring her in, brush her, clean her ears, tears, do a hygiene trim & trim any strays in about 10 minutes. Then I bathe her: in, wet, shampoo & conditioner together, lather, rinse & towel dry-five minutes! She hates it & I really hate stressing her out, I swear she has a panic attack so I combine everything I can to be done a.s.a.p. I don't blow dry her because she is afraid of the dryer, just like every motorized thing in this house. Lately she's so angry she actually barks & growls as she runs around like a looney! Oh, her hair is short, and I still don't know if it's cottony or silky! |
Actual bathing only takes about 10 mins. Drying is about 15, Uni has silky hair so it dries fast, and I do the brushing at the same time. Seems to make the drying faster. And she sits nicely for me when I dry her. She just started doing it one day, instead of trying to run away from the dryer. Now when I had Katie, with her cotton coat, oh man, it seemed like it'd take 10 mins just to get her hair wet! Then drying was another thing. She has really thick hair! Lately though, gma has taken it upon herself to give Uni all her baths. Hey works for me, heh heh. |
I have four in full coats. It takes me about 2 hours per dog. I completely comb out first, do nails, trim feet and butt and tummy and ears, clean ears and teeth and eyes (with eyewash). Then in the sink, check anal glands and express if needed, wet, shampoo (removes outer gunk), rinse, shampoo again with a different brand (really gets them clean), rinse, condition with 2 types mixed togeter and massage it in for a few minutes, rinse, condition again if needed, rinse, towel dry and give the dog a break. Then blow dry and comb out, adjust parts and do top knots, trim or shorten coat lengths if needed. Done. Whew! :D |
My showers are fast, usually a few minutes, but I do like to spend more time in the tub. Then again, I leaned the Navy Shower way... |
Tibbe takes about 30 mins. from ear cleaning, the bathing, rinsing and towel drying as his coat is short and cottony. With his coat, I only use a hair dryer when it is cold. He loves to dry himself with a couple of towels on the floor rolling and wallowing around on them, running all through the house air-drying, then playing matador/bull with the towels. One of the joys of his life is playtime with the towels and mommie after his bath. The final touch to his bath is a good brushing on the back porch, spraying on his Fresh "N Clean doggie cologne and a run in the sun all around the yard. Then he comes in, has a good long drink of water, wallows all around on the floor and the couch to muss up his just-brushed coat and a happy-barking session. He gets such a charge out of all this when he finally goes down for a nap, it is usually a long one. |
Hmmm....it takes me about 15 minutes to bathe both my boys! I bathe them together in the tub at the same time. I've never been successful blow drying them so I let them air dry. They both get wild zoomies after the bath and dry themselves off along the furniture or towels on the floor. Max dries very very quickly but Cooper takes a little longer. I then spend about another 15 minutes brushing them and cleaning their ears after they dry off. |
